Answer: Hello, UV rays actually cannot penetrate deep through solid, so it is chemically not too possible to fully cure black pigmented gel polish , due to black pigment also absorb UV radiation as well. Unless it is in extreme high Watt. So dark color gel could only applied in thin layers. Or else only the top layer of gel solidify and the gel will occur in ridges. Thank you

Answer: I do. They charge better if they are in full sun in the day. But will charge in semi Shade, just not as much.

Question: Can I turn it n manually if I wanted lights on during the day
Answer: They operate on a light sensor. I don’t know that you would see them very well during the day, but I would think you could cover the solar panel with a piece thick paper or cardboard and they would come on. In that case, however, they would stop charging. When I assembled mine, I put my hand over each lid to test them after sitting in the sun for a bit and the lights came on.
Question: Does the lid have a waterproof gasket
Answer: YES the lids are waterproof,&they look great. I have 16 on my patio.
