How It Works

Measuring 16.3 inches tall, this lava lamp heats up with the help of a pre-installed 25-watt incandescent light bulb. Difficult Lamps: Sometimes you will get stubborn wax. Please be sure you are letting the lamp run initially for about 6-8 hours, no more than 10 hours The lava becomes dormant after production until you start it up and it becomes a member of your family. Some lava takes a little longer to get moving than others. We suggest a 4 day cycle run to get your lamp moving. Run your lamp for 8 hours each day, consecutively. This should help get your lamps to start flowing properly. Four Ways to Ruin your Lava Lamp: 1. Do not loosen or remove the bottle cap on globe. Breaking the seal will ruin your lamp and void your warranty. 2. Do not move, shake or drop your Lava Lamp while “WARM”. The lamp will become cloudy and the lava will break apart. If this happens shut the lamp off immediately and let sit undisturbed for 24 hours. Then turn it back on and run as normal. Hopefully your lamp will run again unharmed. But there is a possibly that it will be damaged for good. 3. Do not place lamp in direct sunlight. The colors will fade. 4. Do not store in extreme cold or heat. This will affect the functionality of your lamp.

Question:	The light bulb that came with my lamp is so big, the glass part won't sit fully in the base, it's sitting directly on the light bulb. Is this normal
Answer:	Yes. I built a shelter for a couple of feral cats that were roaming in our neighborhood. I placed the shelter in the bushes right outside our house. I equipped the shelter with the Muranda Thermal Cat pad to keep the inside warm. It is currently set on high, which averages about 69 degrees, even with snow on top and outside the shelter. I should mention that every wall, including the top and bottom of the shelter, is insulated with a reflective insulating material. It's been outside for about six months and so far, it hasn't malfunctioned nor developed any signs of mold or mildew. I constructed the shelter from a 55 gal storage bin from Home Depot. I cut two entry/exit access doors, about two inches from the bottom, which keeps the inside mostly dry. the Pad is working great! No complaints at all!
Question:	My lamp arrived cloudy. What should I do
Answer:	I doubt its waterproof.. Has soft warm maerial on one side.. The bottom side sounds like it has vinyl tarp sewed in

Answer:	I use it outdoors for feral cats. I went out to check it and if you crunch it in your hands it does sound crinkly. I then put my hand on it as a cat would to lay down . There was a tinsy bit of crinkle but very, very little. Hope this helps.

Answer:	It has a 25 watt light bulb and it does get hot. That is what melts the wax and makes it work. Put a ceramic coaster under it to protect your table.

Answer:	Not sure about ul listing, I've had these over a year and long sense discarded the box and materials they came in. They have caused no problems, have proven reliable, and I will purchase more for the garage and stand up crawl space under the house.

Answer:	It shuts off after 20 seconds. These lights are fantastic, I have them in every room in the house and will purchase more. You can also adjust the amount of light with a slide switch. • Product is cloudly then Please turn your lamp on and allow it to heat up until the base is warm or hot to the touch, the wax has softened and is flowing as it should. Once the lamp reaches this point then please turn the lamp off and allow it to cool completely, to where it doesn’t feel as if it’s been on, and then turn the lamp on again. You will want to do this several more times. It can take a bit longer with the larger lamps. However, by running the lamp in short bursts when you heat the wax up and then allow it to cool, it’s that cooling action that acts like Velcro pulling the tiny particles of wax together. The cloudiness is caused by small wax particles that have broken off. This often happens during shipping

Answer:	Read the manual should be okay to plug into a power strip or surge proctector.
Question:	What would happen if I put a 50 W bulb in it instead of 25? This thing is pretty slow
Answer:	The manufacturer didn't design this for a 50W bulb. The fixture itself is rated at 25W and you risk fire by exceeding that. However, if you are hell-bent on rigging up your own fixture for higher wattage, as a former Engineer, I recommend the following: 1. Be sure the wiring & light fixture is rated for the size bulb you're going to put in there. 2. Add a dimmer switch as 50W is likely overkill risking burns and possible explosion of the bottle (see YouTube videos for Lava lamp explosions); 3. Don't touch the damn thing at higher wattage unless you enjoy intense pain.
Question:	Does the wax glow under a blacklight on the neon blue one
Answer:	The one we got to give for Christmas was broken and they were out. We couldn’t get a refund because it was too late. Wasted money.
Question:	Is it normal for the lamp to be really cloudy and the wax to not melt after 2 hours
Answer:	No that is not normal. When you first turn it on (for the very first time) it will take a solid hour before you see anything happen. The water in now way should be cloudy.

Answer:	Regular electrical outlet. I think 110v. The lamp takes a long time to heat up before the lava starts to move and gets hot. My granddaughter doesn't use it anymore. Sorry I can't help more.
Question:	Why does the base of this lamp get so hot? I have the supplied bulb in it
Answer:	It's a heat lamp. Needs to be hot to get the wax moving. Put it on a plate if you're worried about it damaging the surface it's on. And don't touch it while it's on.

Answer:	Mixing of colors.

Answer:	Not sure I understand the question. I don't know what kind of outlets exist in other countries. Maybe an adapter is required? My lamp plugs into a normal 110 outlet where I live in the US.

Answer:	The silver top and bottom I think are plastic but painted silver. It's a hard plastic, not flimsy. The part that contains the liquid is glass.

Answer:	120 only. It is a regular light fixture. Do not use with 220v systems.

Answer:	Since their inception, they have been called "lava" lights/lamps. It is simply the Brand name of the item. If you read the description, it clearly states the item uses wax as the "lava" in the liquid. Hope this answers your question.

Answer:	Turn it on and let it cycle for 5-6 hours. If the metal coil isn't on the bottom it'll take a while to even out. The coil has to be near the bulb

Answer:	The reviewers seem to say that this product is just polyester stuffing. In other words, just as heat reflecting as a quilt. Did the seat cushions that you remember "crinkle"? If so, it was probably a cushion with a mylar layer. They can be quite warming, without actually having to create any heat (such as a lightweight hunter item). Read this review and try the product they mention instead. Answer:	It seems to. In the morning they are warm after sleeping however long they sleep at night. It seems to keep them warm as long as they are on it.
