Troubleshooting steps : During initial warm-up of your Lava Lamp, the coil in the globe may tend to stand on end or float to the top of the globe. If this happens, keep your Lava Lamp operating for four-hours or more to allow the secret solution to become completely melted. The coil should then automatically drop to its correct position at the bottom of the globe. If the coil does not drop down, then twirl the globe GENTLY in the base and the coil will drop. Do not shake and handle with care!

Question:	nd time running the lamp and all the wax started making this path to the top and not really doing what it normally would. 2 hours later the liquid level dropped and the wax is still stuck in this long glob at the top that extends to the bottom. It appears that the wax solidified abnormally and possibly air has gotten
Answer:	Mine did the same thing on the second time running. I called the manufacturer. They said run it 3-4 hours a night for 3 nights. If the same, let cool and turn bottle like you turn a doorknob, to the right and then back to center. Turn on again. Now the wax moved into the long glob and came down and just sits in a ball, waiting to flow upward. I called again, they said run it 10 hours a day for 3 days--if no change, call and they will mail a new one--no need to return old one. I will begin the 10 hour run tonight(1/2/15) and post an update. It also is no longer handled by Amazon, temporarily. Better off calling LavaLamp.com-1-800-336-5282. 8-5 cst.

Answer:	If you recall your grade school art class, Yellow + Blue = Green. The wax is yellow but appears green at times through the blue water.

Answer:	I keep mine on 24/7 and they tend to last about a year before they start dying - some a little more, some a little less. Each one is different, and has its own personality, truth be known. For best results, the 8 hours a day rule should be observed, but if you don't mind buying a new one every year you can run them all the time. You can also regulate their movement using aluminum foil ring inserts over the bulbs (thereby adjusting the heat). Loads of fun!!!

Answer:	It's a heat lamp. Needs to be hot to get the wax moving. Put it on a plate if you're worried about it damaging the surface it's on. And don't touch it while it's on.

Answer:	It's not to bright to me not sure how well another bulb would work but I guess as long as you have the correct wattage it be ok

Answer:	Not all lava lamps are alike - some flow better than others, and I don't know why - either you get a good one or you don't. Once I turn mine on it takes about 15 - 20 minutes for some lava action to begin - and it starts with a column of semi-lucid lava rising from the floor of the jar - forming a sort of stalagmite. A few minutes later the lava has heated up a bit more, and begins 'erupting' from the bottom in different sized chunks that slowly wind and twist their way up to the top of the fluid, where it stays for a few moments as it cools and then begins its descent down to the bottom, to be reheated again, rising to the top in a different sized chunk. This continues for a few hours (all lamps are a bit different) ... then it loses it's mobility and kind of sits there. That's a sign to turn it off and let it sit for a few hours and cool off. When you get a good lamp - it's very cool to watch.

Answer:	For me it was very fluid at first, and it took about 30 minutes to get there; however, it was cloudy so I have been letting it sit still for quite a long time, so I'm not sure how long it will take to heat up now, but the water is very very clear, which I hope stays that way when run it again.

• Product is cloudly then Please turn your lamp on and allow it to heat up until the base is warm or hot to the touch, the wax has softened and is flowing as it should. Once the lamp reaches this point then please turn the lamp off and allow it to cool completely, to where it doesn’t feel as if it’s been on, and then turn the lamp on again. You will want to do this several more times. It can take a bit longer with the larger lamps. However, by running the lamp in short bursts when you heat the wax up and then allow it to cool, it’s that cooling action that acts like Velcro pulling the tiny particles of wax together. The cloudiness is caused by small wax particles that have broken off. This often happens during shipping

Answer:	Read the manual should be okay to plug into a power strip or surge proctector.
Question:	What would happen if I put a 50 W bulb in it instead of 25? This thing is pretty slow
Answer:	The manufacturer didn't design this for a 50W bulb. The fixture itself is rated at 25W and you risk fire by exceeding that. However, if you are hell-bent on rigging up your own fixture for higher wattage, as a former Engineer, I recommend the following: 1. Be sure the wiring & light fixture is rated for the size bulb you're going to put in there. 2. Add a dimmer switch as 50W is likely overkill risking burns and possible explosion of the bottle (see YouTube videos for Lava lamp explosions); 3. Don't touch the damn thing at higher wattage unless you enjoy intense pain.
Question:	Does the wax glow under a blacklight on the neon blue one
Answer:	The one we got to give for Christmas was broken and they were out. We couldn’t get a refund because it was too late. Wasted money.

Answer:	No that is not normal. When you first turn it on (for the very first time) it will take a solid hour before you see anything happen. The water in now way should be cloudy.

Answer:	Since their inception, they have been called "lava" lights/lamps. It is simply the Brand name of the item. If you read the description, it clearly states the item uses wax as the "lava" in the liquid. Hope this answers your question.

Answer:	I use mine daily for about 4 - 7 hours, and it seems to work just fine. I have 8 lava lamps, and I've never had any problems with them overheating.

Answer:	Hello, this lamp is a glass globe.
Question:	Why doesn't the light work
Answer:	Our light works but nothing bubbbles up or move in the lamp. It's just a static light.
Question:	Does it always change color or can you set it to a certain color
Answer:	No. It is only the red color in the picture. Mine barely blows the lava out. It is also battery operated.
Question:	I recently bought this. and, i cant get it to work. i put in new batteries and, nothing. any ideas
