Question:	What type of batteries does this use
Answer:	It only takes re chargeable batteries, Maglite has 1 year warranty on them part #1409. I bought this flash light and regret it. After about four months stopped working sent it back to maglite and they replaced battery and LED module. Problem is that eventhough under warranty and since I am in Canada it cost about $50 for shipping and handling both ways. Considering the light cost $120 it is not worth fixing each time. After first repair in last 6 months before same thing happened. I use my light about 30 minutes in morning and 30 minutes at night to walk the dog. So not heavy use. In canada you can't get replacement batteries for this product Maglite told me to go to Zbattery.com since they are only ones that ship to Canada. I would recommend buying the Phenix UC35 light instead. It takes both rechargeable and non rechargeable batteries. I have had mine now for a year and a half no issues. Batteries for UC 35 readily available everywhere

Answer:	It uses two "D" batteries!! I'm not sure how long they last yet. I tried the ones I got out to make sure they worked and then wrapped them up for Christmas gifts. They are well made and sturdy.
