Answer:	No, It does make a sound you can hear, but it's just the plastic rubbing against other plastic-there's no 'click'. And it's not really a 'switch'. If it's on, and you unplug it, then plug it back in again, it is not 'on' anymore. That's probably why it does not 'click'

Answer:	The newer dimmable model is great but the switch is very hard to operate. It is just a black rectangular thing with no moving parts and very faint markings. I just had to keep tapping here and there to make adjustments or turn on or off. I preferred the older model with an actual switch but it fell apart after 4 years. Still a great lamp for the price.

Has no brand name on it but I got it at Amazon. It has a magnifying glass and a clip and a light. It's rather ugly but it has lasted me for so long that I am glad that I purchased it. :) I hope I can find it in my orders.
