Question:	Can you put a better rechargeable batteries in so they stay little longer
Answer:	In the summer mine stayed lit until wee morning hours. I put mine in storage until spring and they can recharge or I can replace batteries.

Answer:	Yes, but not sure I would buy them. I've had a total of 6 of them (exchanged one set because it didn't work). Two I have never had a problem with. Three stopped working two days after I got them, and one seems to only work inside the house for a short time! Strangest thing. It can be in direct light all day (direct sunlight and also directly under a bright lamp inside), but it won't light at night outside....even though it's next to the two that do work. However if I bring it in, it works for about an hour. Every single one of them I replaced with good rechargeable batteries. Love the two that work, but very disappointed in them as a whole.
