Answer:	You have a choice. If you use the standard (longer) extension it is slightly more than 12" from the ceiling to the fan bottom. Mine came with a shorter extension, which I didn't use, but which would shave a few inches off that length. I can't tell you precisely how much shorter it would be, but at least a couple inches.

Answer:	I found it a bit noisier - in fact I measured it with a sound (decibel) meter, and it is 2-3 db louder. However... it's quite possible that the higher noise level has to do with the fact that I cleaned all the dust etc out of the housing, and there probably is more air flowing now, with the new motor and fan!

This particular humidifier is small, very light , easily transferable and keeps my eyes moisturized . I bottle provides moisture up to 5hrs. I use a Clear American water bottle.

Answer:	A 6ft down rod is the longest length Minka sells. You can purchase a coupler but we do not suggest it. The stability of the fan gets worse the longer it hangs off the ceiling.
