It's been more than three years since I bought the 1st gen and it's working just fine to trigger a garage and entry hall - and it has been well over 110 in that area for much of this past summer. I've not pulled the patent applications nor reverse engineered it but the circuit stays low (the least amount of power consumed) during the period consisting of daylight or other room lights on. I my case I'd bet that the sensor is consuming current for six hours a day for nearly 1,000 days. |

The rubber portion of this item does not get small enough to fit around the piece that holds the fixture (cover) in place. You might have to remove the cover someway and leave it off so you can get to the bulb whenever it needs to be changed. |
