Two ways you can confirm this is 1) the glow is uniform - not concentrated around a filament area, and 2) the actual heat generated is very low, which would not be the case for a filament or gas filled bulb. Have had mine for two years and it works wonderfully - no more bugs gathering around and filling up my light fixture like with incandescent bulbs.

The only thing you have to keep in mind is the bigs will still accumulate and swarm around the outside of the glass if they never venture to the bottom to go inside to the light source. Over all, though, I love this bulb! And....the quality of the LED light is fantastic!

Answer:	The box in which this bulb comes says that the bulb is not dimmable.

Answer:	Yellow bulbs do not repel any bugs! A few moths show up at mine but not like at a white bulb. They are intended for NOT attracting bugs as much as white lights do.

Answer:	Very minimal. Put it this way, way way less than the 60 watt that was there. I am using it in an enclosed fixture on my porch. The bulb is bigger though. Took some finagling to get in my smaller fixture. Well worth it as it is nice a bright.
