Answer: Good question. If the shade gets dirty, the only way to clean/dust it would be a swiffer duster or a feather duster...you would not be able to use wet cloths or sprays on the shade as it is made of paper and would ruin it. The base, on the other hand, would be fine to clean with a wet cloth and/or spray pledge. I have mine for about 6x months now, and I have a lot of dust due to two cats in a tiny apartment, but my shade never appears dirty. It's still as bright white as the day I bought it.
