A new, replacement unit isn't all that expensive, but if you have to have a plumber install it, that'll drive the cost up significantly. The plumber will probably be more than the heater. |

The hot faucet is hot enough to cook one's tea or coffee or any other steaming hot beverage at approximately 185° F. The tanks hold 1 liter of hot water and 3.6 liters of cold water. Due to the extremely hot water, we’ve added a child safety lock on the hot water faucet. There is a built-in nightlight making the water spouts clearly visible in the dark. This water cooler is bottle-less with an NSF certified activated carbon filter (listed as model A5FILTER) and a sediment filter (listed as model A5FILTER) in the cabinet and a water line that can be attached to your water source. The water is taken from your water source and filtered through the filter and then through the machines hot and cold water tanks. The filter will purify the tap water eliminating any chlorine, lead, rust, and bacteria. There is also a built-in leak detector to automatically monitor the water flow from the water source into the machine. We have incorporated a self-clean ozone function which will automatically clean the machine’s water tank with the injection of ozone by the press of a switch. The sides of the sink base will need to be cut to allow room for the rim of the sink and possibly room for the installer's hand to get in there to tighten the clips if they use that method. We frequently do it but the actual installer should be the one to decide based on your application. It's a little more work but it's worth it especially if the trade off is a much smaller sink. The Avalon Countertop Hot/Cold Water Cooler is made with innovation and style. The easy-to-use paddle spouts make it so much more convenient to use. The machines highly efficient compressor makes the cold water crisp and ice cold at approximately 47° F without the need of adding ice cubes to your drink. Due to the extremely hot water, we’ve added a child safety lock on the hot water faucet. There is a built-in nightlight making the water spouts clearly visible in the dark. This water cooler is bottle-less with an NSF certified activated carbon filter (listed as model Avalon A4FILTER) and a sediment filter (listed as model Avalon A5FILTER) with a water line that can be attached to your water source. | Answer: | My answer applies to all water coolers - as long as the cooler is kept clean and the unit is cleaned at regular intervals when water bottles are changed - there is no issue related to mold. (The cooler can be flushed with a vinegar and water mixture - then flushed with lots of water to eliminate vinegar residue). As long as the pipe is properly placed in the water bottle and the cap is tightly secured, leakage will not be an issue. |
