So if an area of the powder coat is scratched or rubbed off you will see rainwater cause a white residue to appear. This is the Zinc coming out of the steel before rust starts. You can use a Rust preventative paint to match our boxes for touch up and prevent rusting over time. You can also use a clear wax to help protect the powder coat periodically. This keeps things looking new for a very long time if done regularly just like a car.

Answer:	Some conflicting answers from other people here... There is a foam seal around the edge of the top door, which by itself isn't that useful since the delivery person often forgets to close it, but the design of the top door hinge is such that most of the water that collects in it can drain out without being dumped inside. As for the bottom door, the top and side edges of the door frame are beveled to direct water to the bottom, where there are two drain holes to let out any water that does get inside. Because of these details, I would call this box weather-resistant.
