Answer:	If you have a Ring alarm hub, you can connect the lock to the hub via z-wave, then it will be indirectly connected to wifi through the hub. You can lock/unlock, set passcode etc on the Ring app. One cool feature I like is, you can set up in a way so when you unlock the door with a certain passcode, it disarms the alarm system.

Before you start re-keying, you must have your functioning key, your new key, and the SmartKey Learn tool.

Step 1

Insert the key that currently operates your lock, and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.

Step 2

A) Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole.

B) Remove the SmartKey tool and the current key.

Step 3

A) Fully insert your new key into the lock and rotate it 180 degrees.

B) Rotate the new key 90 degrees back to the starting position, and remove it. Your lock is now re-keyed to your new key, and your old key will no longer operate the lock.

Question:	Is it possible to dissable the cylander (or have a locksmith do this by modification) - making it a keypad only entry system
Answer:	is there way to make the auto lock longer than 30 seconds, 1 minute would be better. I have ring alarm system as z-wave base station.

Answer:	There are many "add-on" smartapps that can be added to Smarthings. Google the Smartthings community. I use an app called Access Codes. I can remotely mange all of my codes, removal, addition, activation, timing, etc .... it works flawless and has been for over 2 years.
Question:	Does this lock have auto-lock. In other words - if I enter my house and forget to lock the door behind myself - will it lock
Answer:	If the internal battery goes dead while you are away, you touch a 9 volt battery to those two little prongs and that provides power to the lock allowing you to enter your regular code and unlock the door. Once you are inside you must change the interior battery. I keep a 9V battery in the car for this reason. My alarm company (FrontPoint) automatically sends me a text when the lock internal battery is getting weak, so hopefully I won’t ever need the 9V to let me in. Hope that helps.
Question:	When using Z-Wave and Smartthings, is there a function that allows me to see which codes were used to enter and at time what those codes were used
Answer:	From the outside - press any key and it locks. I have the simplest of the Yale deadbolt lock set (not connected by z-wave). The lock is now over one year old and I haven't had to change the batteries yet. It bakes in the hot Arizona sun and has given me no problems at all. I highly recommend this product.

Insert the Key that currently operates your lock, and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.

Step 2

a) Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole.

b) Remove the SmartKey tool and the current key.

Step 3

a) Fully insert your new key into the lock and rotate it 180 degrees.

b) Rotate the new key 90 degrees back to the starting position, and remove it. Your lock is now re-keyed to your new key, and your old key will no longer operate the lock.

Answer:	The app will notify you as soon as your batteries get low. The lock will also show a red battery icon for a few weeks before your batteries die. If the batteries die completely, you simply need to hold a 9V battery up to the terminals located below the keypad to energize the lock and then enter your pin code to get inside and change the batteries.
Question:	I need to know what can you manage by remote access via apple tv, I mean, can you add temporaly code access? Can you see who access and when to home
Answer:	Yes. You can set it up to unlock when u arrive and lock when you leave.
Question:	What happens when the batteries run out
Answer:	Yes, the cylinder can be removed or replaced. However, not a great idea because it runs on batteries and when the battery dies, you would essentially be locked out without an alternative entry method.
Question:	When used with homekit, can it take advantage of geofencing and prompt me to unlock it when i arrive home, similar to the myq garage door opener
Answer:	The Echo Plus uses the Zigbee protocol. This particular Kwikset 910 uses the Z-wave protocol, so it has a Z-Wave module installed in it and won't link directly to the Echo Plus hub. To be able to control your lock directly via the Echo Plus hub, you would need to instead purchase a Kwikset 910 that comes with a Zigbee module installed.

Question:	can you set up different codes for different users? like for housekeepers? can these codes be set to be active only for certain times of the day
Answer:	The wink hub was updated 03/16/2015 to support many more features of this lock. I do own both a wink hub and this lock. The wink hub/app records manual turning of the deadbolt in the activity report. It now also reports which codes were entered to unlock the door (code #1, code #2, etc.). You can also configure the lock's alarm/security settings from the wink app. This was a major update for the wink app and makes this lock a great purchase if you are considering going with the wink hub.
Question:	Anyone know of other z-wave controllers that work with this? I see this comment in the description area: *If you plan to use this product with Z-wave controllers, please contact that provider for compatibility
Answer:	I've had mine installed and use through the Ring app since March 2020 and battery level still showing full. Please check to see the deadbolt itself is not mis-aligned and the deadbolt moves freely to lock/unlock. I have read that any resistance to the operation will greatly reduce battery life. 3-4 weeks is ridiculous and there is obviously a problem with the install or they have a defective lock set. The product description I believe says around 12months and will then warn you when the batteries are getting low. Mine is being used a minimum of (3) times a day since March of '20 and still shows full so, 12 months should be accurate. My lock came with Duracell batteries if I remember correctly. Cheaper batteries will obviously impact life of the device. In this case it pays to use "quality" batteries..
Question:	Has anyone used this with the Wink Hub? What features are available with Wink
Answer:	We installed the Yale Assure lock when our "regular" definitely not smart deadbolt broke. It works GREAT with my iPhone and I get alerts whenever the door is locked or unlocked. It does not identify which code is being used. I don't know if it can identify the individual code users. Make sure you get the model that works with the iPhone. They also recommend using the BILT app which is extremely helpful with installation and set up. Highly recommend.
Question:	Anybody having problems with battery life on this thing? Some say it lasts 3 - 4 weeks w/ basic programming
Answer:	Hi - If you have an Apple TV (4th gen or later), you can lock and unlock from anywhere, see current lock status, receive notifications when the door is unlocked or locked, manage pin codes and activate Apple HomeKit scenes. Please note, the Yale Secure app does not currently offer the ability to set schedules or expiration dates for codes but rest assured that this is a top priority for our app team and will be available soon!

How Do I Know When My Battery Is Low?

You’ll have plenty of advance notice. Answer:	In the event that the batteries die, you can take a 9V battery and place it on the 9V battery terminals on the face of the lock. Doing this will provide you with enough power to enter your entry code into the lock and unlock the door and then you will be able to change your batteries. The lock also provides several audible and visual low battery warnings to prevent from a lock out situation.
Question:	Can you set to auto lock after 60 seconds
Answer:	How long the battery last depends on use. If you have a large family coming in and out then yes the battery won't last as long. However, the pros out weight the cons in my opinion. I especially like the way in works with Alexa. If you're already in bed and you forgot to lock the door. You say Alexa lock the door. Also, with my alarm when I put in the code it locks the door and also turns on the alarm. Let's say your running late and you need to let family or friends in. You can open the door using your phone. You can give kids, family members, housekeeper, etc. different codes for to access.
Question:	What happens when the battery dies? Does it automatically disable the lock so you can open the door
Answer:	This will work with Honeywell L5100 and L5200 alarms with Z-Wave. It will NOT work with the newer L7000 series panel. You will need the FE469 series lock - it has updated firmware. I am a fan of this lock for my system, no issues and battery life is great. HOWEVER - I have a L7000 in another location that refuses to work with it. - Use Kwikset for the L7000 series.
