User questions & answers
Question: | this fluke, 15B says it uses 2 AA batteries, the fluke 15 B by amazon says it uses one 9 volt battery. whats up with this |
Answer: | This is Original Fluke 15B+. We are direct seller from China. |
Question: | Does this meter make a beep sound when testing for continuity |
Answer: | Fluke designs in quality and safety first and features last. This is why you can't go wrong with a Fluke. With that said their lower end models are a bit Spartan. Like having a bargraph is really useful to notice quick flutter in what you're measuring ( since it updates much quicker than the number reading), also I would really try and get a meter with the min max feature. I find it indispensible especially if you don't own a scope. You can leave a meter in min max mode for hours and you can catch glitches that way.I find the 15b perfect for me being a computer engineer, but If you can stretch your budget get a 115 or one of the 170 series meters or even better one of the 80s, 87-V being the best. A Fluke multimeter is going to last you forever, meters don't really become outdated, I have an 8060A on my desk, it was built in 1985 and works like a charm. This is why I think it's worth spending a little extra for those few really useful features. The 15B is it's replacement after 30 + years. Also keep in mind if you're serious about electronics you want 2 meters. To measure multiple things at once and to double check and cross reference between them. Good Luck |
Question: | This is original fluke or chinese |
Answer: | The major advantages of the 87V Max are: Withstands drops up to 4-meters (13 feet) with industrial strength casing and holster Waterproof, dustproof IP67 case for the most extreme work sites |
Question: | Is the 15b+ a better choice than the |
Answer: | "is thier a difference in the fluke 87 and the 87-v" Is THERE a difference BETWEEN the Fluke 87 and 87-V? |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the meter come with a magnet on the back ? If not, how can I have the meter stay on a metal surface instead holding the meter with my hand |
Answer: | No magnet. Leads are long to be able to set it somewhere while measuring, or if there is something to clamp the meter to, you can go that route. Maybe you can find a magnetic strap (with Velcro) to strap around the meter. |
Question: | Can the temp prob be calibrated by the owner? Can it read negative numbers? i.e. Freezer temps |
Answer: | The 325 will only go down to 14 degrees F and the meter lacks an offset adjustment. If the customer has access to a metrology lab we do publish the calibration procedures. Probes would typically be verified by a drywell calibrator. |
Question: | How is the temperature taken? Contact or infrared |
Answer: | Fluke 324 takes temperature by contact, it uses a thermocouple. |
Question: | Does the Fluke 324 measure DC Amps via the clamp |
Answer: | I am posting for other readers, One person who answered stated you can not read DC current with a clamp, this meter is AC current only but they do make clamps that can measure DC current, they are considerably more expensive, I own one and it I have used it on 12Volt Dc systems (cars) and it works pretty good. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Looks like the 117 includes a non-contact voltage detector. does that mean i don't need a separate non-voltage detector, i.e. 2ac av tester |
Answer: | It will sense AC voltage with no contact if within range. |
Question: | Why is the 116 better for hvac guys than the |
Answer: | The only major differences between the 116 and 117 are thermometer and non-contact voltage detection features, the 116 having the thermometer but not non-contact. I would make a conclusion that HVAC technicians would have more use for a thermometer on the job, where electricians have more use for non-contact. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the primary difference between the fluke 87v and the 87vMax |
Answer: | Hi the Fluke 87 is measures capacitance in several ranges, the lowest Range being 10.00 nF with a 0.01 nF resolution, the accuracy of this reading is 1% plus several counts. The lowest resistance range is 600 Ohms with a 0.1 Ohm resolution. So to answer your questions No it will not work for your pico farad measurements but it will read resistance less than 500 Ohms. If you need better capacitance reading capabilities you way want to look for s good LCR meter. |
Question: | is thier a difference in the fluke 87 and the 87-v |
Answer: | Yes. It has a temperature mode and includes a bead probe. It may be worthwhile to pick up the thermocouple adapter as well. |
Question: | how low can the meter read in picofareds? 1pf? 10pf? 100pf? not that low? Also the same in resistance |
Answer: | Yes, the meter will shut off unless it has battery back up which I don't believe it has by the description, but the killowat counter should restore. |
Question: | Can the 87-V measure temperature |
Answer: | Depends on what you mean by "calibration." You can validate the accuracy of the meter under several typical conditions, and that may be all you really need. However, if you would like to know the accuracy at every conceivable combination of current, voltage, frequency and power factor, then this is probably a task you wouldn't want to do. Certainly, this device is not intended to be a lab-grade instrument (claimed accuracy is something like 1%), so there's no internal memory to hold compensation information to accurize the measurement data. Remember, to "calibrate" you will make adjustments to bring the device as close to perfect (against a standard) as you can, while to "validate" is simply to compare the performance (with a standard) and note the deviations. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are you really sure about tenth of a volt? Manual says 1V resolution, and I own one of these and can't make it show tenths, DC or AC |
Answer: | I don't currently have one of these. But, the spec sheet indicates .1A resolution on the current measuring (A) scale. All of the voltage scales have 1 V resolution. |
Question: | Does the screen light up |
Answer: | No it doesn't... That's my only issue |
Question: | Is there any way to mount a TPAK hanger on a T5-1000? I would definitely purchase this if I could hang it off the side of a rack in a data center |
Answer: | What a good convenient meter. Unfortunately the only way to hang it is if you improvise your own solution. Perhaps the accessory pouch available for the meter would be a good starting place. |
Question: | does this read dc amps |
Answer: | No, it does not read DC amps. AC amps only. I almost bought a T5-600 based on the misleading answers to this question. Got a 362 instead - the 362 measures DC amps (the T5 series doesn't), and the 362 has one decimal for voltage - the T5 doesn't. |

User questions & answers
Question: | This product is manufactured in |
Answer: | It says it was "Designed in USA" right on the back of the multimeter. But I think it was made in China. And my users manual says models 114, 115, and 117 are true-rms multimeters. It does not mention model 116, I don't know why. I really like this meter, it feels very well built and rugged. It measures LoZ, AC and DC Volts and Milivolts no Amps - I never have to worry if the leads are plugged into the correct jacks. Of course it measures Ohms and is lightening fast for continuity, I have compared it to an older Sunpro, BK Precision, and OTC and it is way faster. I added some TL175 silicone test leads capable of screw-on accessories and am very happy with it. |
Question: | What is the resistance range on this and how accurate is it? I will be working with resistance less than 1 ohm mainly |
Answer: | The lowest resistance range is 600.0 Ohms with a 0.1 Ohm Resolution. Working at less than 1 Ohm, I WOULD NOT recommend this meter, you want to look for a meter with milli-ohm capabilities/ranges. Even a meter with a 10 Ohm range will probably frustrate you |
