Question:	I have tried similar ones. I have a basement install at top stairs but when I come back up later the beam is flat and does not pick me up will this
Answer:	No. I have two of these, one at the top and one at the bottom of the stairs to compensate. They make an audible clicking sound and I can tell that the one at the top of the stairs does not turn on until my head comes close to horizontal with the switch.
Question:	In a 3-way application, what happens when you turn on the regular switch? Does it stay on or go off after a time
Answer:	Depends on how you have the Lutron programmed. You can set it to turn off with ambient light along with timed turn off with out movement or just plain turn on with movement. Have 2 but probably will move the one in my office. Have it timed 3 minute with ambient light & when setting at desk reading light will turn off. Not a big deal just wave my hand in the air & it comes right back on

Answer:	Depends on use. Lights and Ceiling fans, 250w is fine. If you have a Electric ceiling heater That requires more watts, then the 600w I would use. Hope this helps.
Question:	Will the motion sensor be set off by a small (toy size - 10 lbs) dog
Answer:	I have mine installed in a small walk-in (6 ft x 5 ft) closet and my 10 lb cat triggers it all the time, kind of annoying when it happens at 1 am. I just close the door to preven this from happening.
Question:	Will this work as... Enter room and I manually turn on the light and then the unit automatically turns off the light after a set time of inactivity? I only want it to turn off the light
Answer:	Follow up question on the previous answer....So if the unit turns off the light, is the actual switch toggled back to the "off" position? So that the next time someone walks in the door, they have to again toggle the switch back to the "on" position?
Question:	I don't get the,"No neutral required." A neutral is always required. What am I missing here
Answer:	I was an electrical engineer for Lutron back in the 1980's. Many dimmers and electronic switches like this one do not require a neutral wire to work. This is not a mechanical switch but an electronic one. It uses a silicon switching device called a triac which turns the light on and off 120 times per second, just like every dimmer ever made. During the brief period 120 times/second when the triac is off, the device draws a small amount of power through the light bulbs it controls, and uses this small amount of power to charge a capacitor, which you can think of as a rechargeable battery. Thus there are many wallbox products, such as most dimmers, that do not require a neutral wire to operate. Nor does it put any power intentionally to ground, which would be against the electrical code and thus could not be sold. The reason other companies require a neutral wire is because they were not designed by companies that also make dimmers as their engineers probably do not realize the device can be designed to draw sufficient power using a triac instead they use a relay, which would produce an audible click when switched on, where as a triac device would make no sounds when turning on and off. Question:	Does this come as pictured with the mounting stub or is it just the sensor? Thanks
Answer:	It comes with the mounting stub as pictured. The mounting stub is the standard size for attaching to an electrical box (there are any number of options as to what size and style). I purchased this unit about a year ago and it has functioned flawlessly.
Question:	Can I use two of these in paralled to work one light? I want to mount them on the corners of a garage and turn on one central light
Answer:	My guess is you will burn them out. i tried this once with a water circulation pump (no light in the circuit) connected to a relay. A friend of mine had 3 of these in 3 different bathrooms in his house. the thought was as soon as someone walked into a bathroom, this device would activate a pump which would circulate hot water from the water tank to the fixtures (and hence the cold water in the line back to the tank for heating). We took precautions. first we made sure the power going to the 'hot' and neutral side of the sensors were from the same breaker (otherwise you could accidentally send 240 volts to the load if the sensors were on different sides of the line coming into your breaker panel). Second, we used a relay (mentioned earlier) as 'the load' because the draw (in amps) of the circulation pump was more than the sensor would allow as a pass though (you have to pay attention to the current these things will allow... watts, amps, miliamps - all need to know stuff! - we could have hooked it up directly, but it would have burned them out in short order, not to mention create a fire hazard). Finally, we ran all three of the load wires back to one junction box, tied them together with a wire nut (to complete the parallel connection you are talking about), and connected the load to the trigger side of the relay. we walked in each room and sure enough, the motion sensor engaged the relay, and the motor kicked on and the water circulated as designed. we thought we were home free. after about 2 months, we noticed one of the sensors was no longer activating the relay (and the pump did not run). we could eliminate the motor as it was completely separated from the electrical path. we discovered one of the motion sensors had burned out. replaced it, and all was well, and then a month later, a motion sensor from ANOTHER bathroom burned out. the relay hardly drew any power, so it couldn't be that. then we separated all of them and had three separate relays to engage the pump - never had another issue with burn-out. so what happened? we think if a person 'tripped' the motion sensor, it sent 110 volts to the load side of the other sensors (which were not activated by motion), and that 'back flow' of power messed up the electronics inside the sensors not in use. only explanation that made sense. so long story short, you could connect them in parallel, but i think they would burn out because of a 'back flow' between the devices. when we separated them with individual relays - no problems. e-circulation pump would have drawn more amps than the sensor allows to pass through we ranf the 'load' side of

Answer:	If your application requires it to work during the day just put electrical tape over the photo sensor and it works 24/7. I used sensor to activate a fountain pump 24/7

Question:	Does the switch work silently or does it come on with do you hear the click of a relay when it comes on or goes off
Answer:	This is not a switch, it's a dimmer. This dimmer comes on silently yes, however if you need a switch instead, the switch does make a click, but the click is not really any louder than the click heard from a standard on/off switch.If you are controlling something that is not dimmable like a fluorescent, then this dimmer is not right and you should instead get the switch. Also I recommend getting the units that are Occupancy controlled versus vacancy as you will have more functionality options.
Question:	Can i disable the sensor and use as regular on/off switch dimmer
Answer:	Yes, you disable the sensor totally and just use it manually by tapping it on or off.

Answer:	For those who don't yet know how it's programmed...To enter programming mode:1. Pull the tab out, located at the bottom of the switch2. Press and hold the main button3. Put the tab back in4. Let go of the main button after you see the left indicator light blinksOnce in programming mode, set the 'timeout' to be 30 minutes:1. The bottom indicator light should be on. If not, press the up/down buttons until the bottom one is lit; this is the 'timeout' setting2. Press the main button to select the 'timeout' setting3. Question:	When a light is switched on due to motion does this switch fade-in the light or does it automatically go to the last brightness setting immediately
Answer:	It always fades on and off but the level when triggered from the motion sensor can be set to either the last level (called preset), 50% or 100%. Manually, to goes to the last level. Mine as going to 100% and I have no idea what I did to make it do that and had to do a factory reset and start over since I wanted it to use preset for the motion sensor level not the default 100% fade up. Lowering the sensitivity does not seem to do much and unlike the previous release it does not include and tape to mask off part of the sensor.

Answer:	When the motion sensor is controlling a light, the light will always turn off automatically (at a time set by you) whether you use the switch or not. Keep in mind that the light must also be connected to a Lutron wireless wall switch or plug in dimmer.
Question:	Can more than one pd-osens be used simultaneouly with the pd-6ans switch

Question:	Can I use two of these switches on the same 3 way circuit
Answer:	The instructions for the MS-B102 and MS-B102-V shows how to install it along with an ordinary mechanical 3-way switch. However, if both positions need to be a sensor switch to provide adequate coverage, then you would need to select a different brand/model that would work in conjunction with a companion/remote sensor.
Question:	How well does this ultrasonic sensor "see" around corners

Question:	how long does it wait before it turns off
Answer:	In the installation instructions it will tell you how to set the time.. there are 3 or 4 different options. It can be set for as little as a minute, 5 minutes and if I remember right it goes 15 then 30 mins. But it is very easy to set up. Just refer to the instructions. This is a great product.. I have several in my house because my kids never turn the lights out.
Question:	I have 2 black wires and a neutral white wire no ground. Will this require a ground

Answer:	I see that others have answered yes to your question, but looking at the spec sheet for the MS-VPS2 indicates that this particular switch is not suitable for use with inductive loads. Question:	Will these switches work in tandem with each other on two separate sides of a room with multiple entrances
Answer:	Yes, this is a 3-way switch and they can work in tandem. They can also work in tandem with a normal manual switch.By the way, keep in mind this sensor does NOT turn the lights on for you, only off. There are other models with auto on and off. I had a similar situation but was using an auto on and off model. The room was small enough for one switch to detect the entire room so I put a blind wall plate over one of them. Easy does it.

Answer:	The LRF2-OCR2B-P-WH can have its timeout settings changed by pressing and holding the button associated with the timeout category. When the indicator light begins to flash, you can tap the same button to select a new setting, then hold the timeout button down until the indicator light stops flashing to save the setting. Answer:	The LRF2-OCR2B-P is rated for indoor use only. It has a temperature rating of 32°F to 104° (0 ˚C to 40 ˚C). Due to this fact, Lutron would not suggest using this device in outdoor applications.
Question:	It says it has a 10 year battery life. Is the battery replaceable and if so what is the battery type
Answer:	Yes it is replaceable. It uses a CR123 lithium battery which can be found in most stores and on line vendors as well. I have had mine in a closet for almost five years now and it is still going strong on the original battery.

Answer:	No. But, while I'm here, I'll add a gripe of mine. You cannot set the motion on brightness level. its always on full. You can set the 'tap on' brightness level, but that's really not too helpful. After all, it is a motion detecting switch... Answer:	I've used these successfully with dimmable LED lights - the only problem is they don't work well when cold (under 60 degrees) or at low levels of dimming. At 50% dim or above in 70 degree air, no problem, below that, your mileage may vary.
Question:	How does this item compare with MS-OPS2-WH
Answer:	It appears from the description that the MS-OPS2HW requires a neutral wire in the switch box, while the MS-OPS2 will work without a neutral wire. So if you have some doubt about what wires are in your switch box, order the MS-OPS2. I am looking at the MS-OPS2HW because it has less negative reviews than the MS-OPS2, perhaps due to the use of a neutral wire. The number of reviews for this version may be too small for this comparison. (The -WH means WHite.)
