The Hunter fan control switch for the Hunter fan works fine.If you have a old fashion standard light bulb in the fan light, the diming and brightening of the light by the control switch works fine.If you use a new low energy (not round but cork screw) light bulb, the diming and brightening of the light by the control switch does not work.My solution was (I had this problem) was to buy a newer model Hunter fan and light attachment, and install the Hunter 27183 control switchon the wall replacing the old control switch. Every now works fine.I installed the old Hunter fan without the light in another room, and threw away the addition light piece for the old fan and old control switch.PW |

| Answer: | If you have to ask this question, you probably should not be doing the work. I do not want to see you injure yourself. The product did come with a wiring diagram which is on the inside of the 4-page booklet. It is at the bottom of page 2. Make sure that you turn off the circuit breaker feeding the circuit. Test the circuit to make sure it is de-energized. If you are simply replacing an existing control, just replace the wires one at a time using the existing one as a guide. The green and yellow striped wire is the ground connection. This should connect to a bare, green or green and yellow striped wire in your power system circuit. The black wire is the power wire. It connects to the black or power wire in your power system circuit. The white wire in your power system circuit is the system neutral. It is a common wire to be connected to both the light and the fan. The red wire connects to the light only . The blue wire connects to the fan only. Be sure that you stand to the side of the outlet box and the circuit breaker panel with your face out of the device as you turn the power back on and operate the switches. Good luck. |

If you have (black wire, red wire, white wire, bare copper wire) you do not need this unit. just get a dual switch and put black on one switch and red on the other. Then in the fan you put black to black and red to blue this will allow you to control the light and the fan independently. |

| Answer: | I installed this switch in a box with 3 other switches (4 total). If I remember correctly, there are 1/8th inch or so wide "break-off" tabs on both sides of the switch that when bent back and forth and broken off, will result in more narrow width profile, that allows more room for the other switchs. |

| Answer: | I have the Wafer 6 in. White Integrated LED Recessed Kit that Home Depot sells. They say they can go down to 10%.. I had another switch in previously that the lights wouldn't dim down as far and would turn off randomly when dimmed down all the way. If you use the adjustment feature in this switch it seems like they go down to that no problem. I've been running them for a day and no flickering or turning off. If anything changes I'll leave an updated comment or update this answer. Two factors you'll need to look at: 1) what is the LED bulb rated to go down to 2) Is this dimmer compatible? If your LED bulb says it can do it try many different dimmers until one works :) |
