Question:	What's the difference between the new and the used
Answer:	Your old/used/original equipment fan is a small, noisy excuse of a fan. This new Heng's Vortex is much quieter albeit not so quiet you forget it's on but quieter non-the-less. It is a much larger fan able to not only clear out unwanted odors, it can also move air out of your RV like a small house exhaust fan might. However, installing it for me was quite difficult. First Heng's cheapened out on wires necessary for electric hook-up. I had to add 4" to make mine work. They way it went into my RV, alignment was off ever so slightly for ease of installation. Heng could have done better without too much effort, but it is what it is! Works well, quite, worth the effort!

Answer:	Using the dB meter app on my phone, at three feet distance, the fan records an average of 64db. The guide on the app says that 64 is in the normal conversation range. It is no noisier than any of the 5 RV bathroom fans I have had.

Answer:	If your current vent is 14 X 14 vent that can be cranked opened and closed it "should" fit without removing the "entire" assy, meaning the roof penetration portion. Be aware that if your current vent is not power you will need to find a source of power. Sometimes you can hook into a nearby light, but beware you may have to have the light turned on to operate the fan.
Question:	Trying to calculate the requirements for a solar system. How many watts does this fan pull on high
Answer:	I don't have an exact measurement but it's rated at 1.8A @ 12 V (about 20-25W). It installed easily in my Jayco X213 which I added solar panels to earlier this year. Not sure what the anemic fan was rated at that I replaced but this moves way more air.

Answer:	Not sure exactly what your asking.. but .. it has a single, 6" intact duct, long enough to attach a 6" diameter duct to. It also has the same diameter discharge duct. In my installation, I used 6" insulated duct, and it worked well. NOTE: this unit DOES NOT SUPPORT variable speed SWITCHES..

Answer:	Hi Robert,Yes, these inline fans can be used with variable fan speed controllers, but there are two things you need to keep in mind:1. Not every fan speed controller unit will work with this fan. We can guarantee that TerraBloom Variable Fan Speed Controller (sold separately on Amazon) does work with booster fans including this one, however, we can't guarantee that any speed controller on the market will work the same because many of them are designed for larger centrifugal fans and we received feedback from customers that they didn't work. 2. The adjustable speed range of the motor of this booster fan is roughly 20-25%, which means that you can decrease the speed roughly by quarter of the overall power before you will start hearing motor "hum", which is a sign that the fan's motor is not getting enough power to operate as designed. Do not decrease the speed of your booster fan past that point, because if the motor is left "humming" it will decrease the useful life of the unit. You can safely decrease the output of this fan by around 20-25% before the hum will be audible and it will significantly reduce the sound produced by the movement of air though the fan (it will be much quieter!) without putting extra strain on the motor and jeopordizing its useful life. Answer:	The fan is extremely quiet. I can barely hear it. I'd guess, and it's a guess, maybe 45 decibels. Maybe 1.0 sones

Answer:	I don't have a way to measure the decibels. I have mine about 3 feet from the exit of my duct work with a thin air filter at the end to keep bugs out. So there isn't much material to muffle the sound but my exact setup is silent when standing 15+ feet away. Otherwise alone the unit sounds like a restroom exhaust fan, just a little more smooth. Answer:	I just tried it because of your question, yes it does, but I think you're asking about a timer situation, I would say that you shouldn't bother with a timer, the reason to get this fan over others is the programmability, this thing self adjusts its own speed based on the high/low temp and the high/low humidity that you enter, the power used to run it is very small.

When using the controller for the first time, it has to paired with the fan by pressing and holding “+” or “-“ button for 3 seconds. Fan speed pre-sets available via remote speed control:
