Answer:	They are made in China and distributed through an American company. The product holds FDA certification in the USA.

Answer:	Yes. All grill mat has a limit of the temperature which is 500F and Kona has it at 600F. Important thing is to get a surface thermometer (not the air thermometer on the grill cover) to place on the mat so you can monitor the temperature not to exceed the limit.
