10 best king baseboard heaters

King baseboard heaters are a type of heating system commonly used in residential and commercial buildings. These heaters are designed to be installed along the baseboards or near the floor, and they are part of the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. Here are some key details about King baseboard heaters:

  1. Design and Installation: King baseboard heaters typically consist of a metal housing with heating elements inside. They are designed to be mounted along the baseboards of rooms or areas that need heating. The installation process involves securing the heater to the wall and connecting it to the electrical system.

  2. Electric Heating: King baseboard heaters are electric heaters, which means they rely on electricity to generate heat. When turned on, the heating elements inside the unit warm up, and a fan may distribute the heated air into the room.

  3. Size and Output: The size and heating capacity of King baseboard heaters can vary. They are available in different lengths and wattages to accommodate various room sizes and heating requirements. It's important to choose the right size heater for the space you intend to heat.

  4. Thermostat Control: Many King baseboard heaters come with built-in thermostats or can be connected to a central thermostat system. This allows users to set and control the desired room temperature.

  5. Safety Features: Modern King baseboard heaters often include safety features such as overheat protection and automatic shut-off to prevent overheating and ensure safe operation.

  6. Quiet Operation: These heaters are known for their relatively quiet operation, making them suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, and other areas where noise levels matter.

  7. Zoning: King baseboard heaters can be used for zoning purposes. Zoning allows you to heat specific rooms or areas individually, which can lead to energy savings by not heating unoccupied spaces.

  8. Maintenance: Regular maintenance, such as cleaning and checking for dust build-up, is important to ensure the efficient and safe operation of King baseboard heaters.

  9. Energy Efficiency: The energy efficiency of King baseboard heaters can vary depending on factors such as insulation, room size, and thermostat settings. Proper insulation and thermostat control can help optimize energy usage.

  10. Brand Varieties: There are various brands and models of baseboard heaters available in the market, and King is one of the well-known manufacturers in this category.

King baseboard heaters are a popular choice for supplemental heating in homes and commercial buildings. They are often used in conjunction with other heating systems or as a primary source of heat in smaller spaces. When considering the installation of King baseboard heaters, it's essential to consult with a professional HVAC technician to ensure proper sizing, placement, and safe installation.

User questions & answers

Question: Can heater be installed in floor
Answer: The heater is designed to be installed in the wall 4" above the floor. It would not be recommended being installed in the floor.
Question: I just received my new heater. Are the interior components supposed to be connected to the can with just one screw? It seems a bit insecure
Answer: there are a couple tabs down on the bottom of the unit that hold that part in- seems to be solid
Question: How do you wire this up for 250 or 500 watts? i only need it to pul between 250-500 as the space i am heating is small and power is very limted
Answer: This can be wired for several wattages during installation, including 250, 500, 750, 1000, 1250 and 1500 watts. Please see installation guide included with the heater for requirements.
Question: How long do these typically last? i have an older dec2422 from 2009 that i may need to replace already
Answer: I have five of these that I installed as part of room by room remodels starting in 1998-99, replacing old baseboard heaters. One is a 120v and the rest are this model. We vacuum them occasionally, and twice a year we pull the grills off and clean them more thoroughly. All but one are doing fine. The one that is starting to fail is in our main bathroom. We think it's failing due to all the moisture in there since we have three teens lined up every morning for hot showers. Even then, that one's lasted 14 or 15 years, and we're replacing it with another just like it as part of a larger remodel (along with better ventilation). All the other heaters are working fine, including the ones we bought in the late 90's. I'm happy with these heaters, and plan to stick with the King brand.

User questions & answers

Question: What's double or single pole
Answer: It blows hot air as opposed to electric baseboard heaters. It has performed extremely well in a large cathedral ceiling beach house. Very happy with it, but I assume it has a fan if air is blowing out.
Question: What's single or double pole
Answer: NO
Question: Does it turn off the heater when it reaches temp
Answer: In a well insulated room, 200-300 square ft. Rough estimate. I heat a 100 sq. ft. Bedroom with average insulation and it gets too warm
Question: do I need an additional wall thermostat for this or can I simply use this plug the actual baseboard unit
Answer: Yes, as long as the amperage is lower than what the thermostat can handle.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this have a fan
Answer: This transformer only has two output contacts. You should examine the wiring for your current transformer and move them as they are currently wired. If you need a more 'educated' answer, you should contact Ring tech support. - That's certainly what I would do...
Question: Why does my heater keep turning off
Answer: The transformer is designed to thread into a knockout hole in the electrical box providing the AC power. In all modern (metal) electrical boxes, the incoming power wires will have a ground lead which is screwed onto the box. In the case of plastic (ugh!) boxes, it may be necessary to wrap a ground wire under the nut when fastening the transformer onto the box. - Other than for grounding the transformer itself, no grounding wire should be necessary.
Question: How many sq. ft. will this heat
Answer: The jumper wires are to bypass the doorbell chime. They just connect the transformer directly to the doorbell button. Currently there is no way to use your chime with the Eufy doorbell so you have to bypass the chime and use the wireless one included with the doorbell.

KING 4CB2407BW CB Ceramic Core Baseboard Heater, Bright White

KING

Based on 35 reviews Check latest price

Product description

King’s premium ceramic electric baseboard heater has over 60+ years of proven reliability and performance. The high mass ceramic element design far exceeds the performance of a standard baseboard with thermal storage from the ceramic core and more efficient heat transfer from over-sized aluminum fins. The result is more gentle heating with fewer on/off cycles as the ceramic core slowly heats up and then continues to dissipate heat during the off cycle. Lower surface temperatures and reduced watt density making the heater much safer. A better alternative to water or oil-filled baseboard heaters that can leak due to high pressure created when heating the fluid in a self-contained vessel.

  • High Mass Ceramic Heating-core
  • Natural Convection Heat
  • Low Density Heat
  • Full Length Safety Cutout
  • Dent Resistant Die Form Cover

User questions & answers

Question: Would the thermostat from the old non ceramic baseboard heater work? Its a singer brand and says high voltage
Answer: No, the 240V unit can not be run off a 120V line. The model# for a 120V unit is WHF1215-W
Question: What is the difference between a ceramic baseboard heater and the cheaper cadet baseboard heater
Answer: It's a fan. So yes.
Question: Using it in a seasonal cabin, can the heater be turned off on unit
Answer: This is a 220v unit . you should have TWO live wires , Usually one is black and one is white . It does not matter which live wire goes to which black wire on the heater . If your voltage is only 110v . the heater will run at 750 watts only .
Question: Does this heater have a running fan? Is it noisy? or does it just allow the air to pass through naturally
Answer: This cannot be converted to 110V. For 110V, our 120V models will work. If you have any questions please contact tech support at [email protected] or (206) 762-0400 opt. 2
