Answer:	yes it works great under engineered vinyl planks. I used it on a concrete slab and then placed my vinyl planks and it worked great. Would definitely use this product again. Highly recommended.

Answer:	The plastic film attached to the pad is a vapor barrier. Unless you have a high moisture problem where it's recommended you completely seal the subfloor, the Roberts 70-193 pad is good to go as-is.

Answer:	I dont recollect. I dont recommend either. Terrible customer service for defective products - think uneven thickness, mere film in places - only to be replaced by even worse material - think uneven width taped together to complete a roll. Thereafter they changed their name online.

Question:	I plan to staple down 3/8" engineered flooring in the upstairs of a home over vinyl flooring. Will this underlayment work underneath
Answer:	If your floor is level, just pull up the old vinyl, put down this underlayment, and float the floor. There were a few areas where I had to staple to the subfloor over this underlayment, and it worked just fine. It's not that difficult, and I am certainly not a pro.

Answer:	Hi There!The felt is going to have an stc rating of 66, will be 3mm thick and will be made of felt with the built in vapor barrier. The Roberts First Step underlayment is going to also be 3mm thick, with a stc rating of 67. This underlayment will be made up of two sheets of plastic with polypropylene foam beads in between those. Question:	Should you use both glue & nails for hardwood flooring with this type of underlayment with Bamboo hardwood 1/2 thick
Answer:	I used under engineered hardwood which did not require glue or nails because it clicked together. I would think that you definately would not use glue.
