If cable is loose when door is closed, the drum set screws can be loosened and the drum rotated on the torsion tube to remove the slack from the cable and the set screws retightened.If the cable comes off as the door is raised the drum is probably not aligned above the cable lift point on the door. The drum is moved to the appropriate position as above.I do agree with the previous reply about the installer being incompetent and to find another.I do not agree with the statement that the unit is not a good one. I have no problem with mine. |

No I have one that goes up for no reason and won’t leave you put it back down until you unplug it for a couple hours then plug it back in so now it is unplugged and I open the door manually because I can’t trust it. | Answer: | Things got worse when I attempted to program the remote using the same method I had used to program the original. I pushed the purple "learn" button on my opener, held down the button on the new remote, and nothing happened. Frustrated, I unpacked the directions (I know, it's my fault for not reading them first). This new remote has a button, labeled "PROG", on the back underneath the metal clip. You have to press this button and then click the desired button on the front 1-3 times (depending on the color of your learn button) to setup the remote. Once this is done, you press the learn button on the opener and then the desired button on the remote and you're all set. It's pretty easy (if you read the directions). It took about 10 minutes to do the whole thing, although it would have been less than five if I had read the instructions first. |
