| Answer: | I use this one a lot in the tree stand and my ground blind. easy to access my gear. I have packed out a decent amount of meat in the main compartment as well. Had to make a few trips to get everything back to my truck. The rain fly is orange, which makes it pretty hard for me to hunt turkeys when its wet out, but its great to pull over the bag when I am walking to a stand or small game hunting during deer season. My waist clips on this broke real quick, thats my only complaint so far. I also use a Tenzing pack, which I like more than this one, but for different reasons. |

| Answer: | If you've researched and owned enough outdoor/hunting gear then you'll know there is a huge difference to waterproof and water resistant. For me those two words in a product description are huge indicators to the limits of performance for that particular item. I've taken this bag with me while on multiple duck hunts and it does fine for light rain, snow, and foggy conditions... in fact it doesn't absorb too much if set on the wet ground for a period of time. All this being said, this pack is definitely water resistant but not waterproof. Hope this helps. |

A rifle is heavier at the top (barrel end), longer and extends this extra weight up much higher. This makes the pack top heavy and not as comfortable. I know this because I have this pack and have tried it. If you look at the ALPS OutdoorZ Commander Freighter Frame Plus Pack Bag which is described as having a rifle carrying feature you will see the rifle sits much lower. Finally, a pack that can comfortably carry a Crossbow, Compound Bow and Rifle! There is a unique fastening system that secures your weapon of choice to both sides of the pack, making this pack extremely versatile. The secret is that there are two padded straps at the top of the pack that start in the middle and wrap around the weapon, then fasten to each side. There are also two “Wing Pockets” on the front of the pack that will help secure and protect your weapon even more. | Answer: | I dropped this pack out of a 24 ft stand with the bow strapped to it, the bow stayed in with no damage but the pack snagged on the way down and ripped in a few spots. I just purchased a different pack that cost nearly twice as much and it does not secure the bow as well as my Alps did. I would buy the Alps if I had it to do again. |

However, if you use our ALPS OutdoorZ Matrix with a compound bow, you can leave one of the wing pockets empty, this will allow the wing to lay flat and the bow stabilizer will be on top of the pocket when strapped in.
