In fact, I almost exclusively use this scope for viewing the night sky (until, at least, I modify the 4-inch to have an adjustable primary mirror). I'm not sure how you would collimate this scope, as it doesn't have an adjustable primary mirror or spider vanes. But it didn't need collimation when I got it (unlike the 4-inch), and it doesn't need it now. Buy a 6.4 mm generic plossl. You'll be able to see Saturn's rings and the bands of Jupiter under good conditions. Don't go lower than 6.4mm on plossls. The telescope can't focus much lower than that. If you don't like the finder, get a celestron red dot finder. A moon filter is a good idea also. |

They keep time well and I still have not yet changed a battery. People notice them because they are unique and they are made of wood mostly. The backing plate for the one I'm wearing now is bamboo I believe. If not it is some kind of wood. Typical engraving may not work, but I do think something could be written on the back side and then spray a clear sealer over it to keep it there. I will buy more of them as they release new designs.
