Answer:	It is made of metal instead of plastic so it won't break evening in coldest winter in Maine, strong enough to hold 200 pounds. I can't say it makes no noise, but noise is minimal, I would say it's quieter than the click when I turn off/on my gun safety. Hope these help.

I don't use this as a sling, I just attached it to the case for my shotgun as an ammo bearing strap and it works well for that.
