| Answer: | There are two stages to knocking a string. 1) determine where to place the string nock, Not rocket science, but correct positioning it is critical to good accuracy. The nocking point is normally determined by bare shaft tuning with an arrow. I suggest you do a search on "bare shaft tuning". If you don't have an opportunity for tuning - use the square to position an arrow at 90 degrees to the string, than raise it 1/8". Place your nock above the shaft. If the arrow is too high or too low it will porpoise when released (you will often be able to see this) which makes aiming erratic and expends arrow KE. 2) Install the nock. This has been explained elsewhere. I use use the method of wrapping the string with serving thread because it is lighter and more easily removed if you change anything affecting the arrow weight and stiffness. There are different preferences on the details, but the basic principles hold. |

These are durable Easton, quality aluminum, matched target arrows. They are sold as a set of six. Colors may vary in feathers, but will be matched in sets of six. The arrows come feather fletched with a right helical to spin the shaft in flight. The feather length varies from 3" to 4" depending on the size of the shaft. The 1716, and 1816 are cut to length with a one-piece glue in target point. The 1916's are cut to length with an aluminum insert installed with a 100gr screw in point.
