13 best swhacker broadheads

Swhacker broadheads are a popular choice among archers and hunters for their innovative design and effectiveness in the field. These broadheads are known for their unique two-blade system, which combines the benefits of both mechanical and fixed-blade broadheads. Here are some key features and information about Swhacker broadheads:

  1. Two-Blade Design: Swhacker broadheads have a two-blade design that incorporates both fixed and mechanical blades. The front blades are razor-sharp and fixed in place, providing superior penetration and accuracy upon impact. The rear blades are mechanical, deploying upon contact to create a wider cutting diameter.

  2. Cutting Diameter: One of the significant advantages of Swhacker broadheads is their impressive cutting diameter when the mechanical blades deploy. This wider cutting path increases the chances of hitting vital organs and creating larger wound channels for a more effective and humane kill.

  3. Penetration and Accuracy: The fixed front blades of Swhacker broadheads help improve penetration by breaking through bones and tough hide. This design also enhances accuracy because the fixed blades ensure that the broadhead flies true to the target.

  4. Durability: Swhacker broadheads are typically built to be robust and durable, designed to withstand the demands of hunting and archery. They are often made from high-quality materials to ensure longevity and performance.

  5. Blade Sharpness: These broadheads are known for their razor-sharp blades, which contribute to clean and ethical kills. The sharpness of the blades ensures that the broadhead can cut through tissue effectively.

  6. Various Models: Swhacker offers a range of broadhead models with different cutting diameters and features to suit various hunting scenarios and preferences.Hunters can choose the model that best fits their needs.

  7. Crossbow Compatibility: Swhacker broadheads are also available in designs specifically tailored for crossbow use. These models are optimized for crossbow velocities, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.

  8. Field Testing: Many hunters and archers have reported positive experiences with Swhacker broadheads in real-world hunting situations. Field tests and reviews often highlight the effectiveness of these broadheads in taking down game.

In summary, Swhacker broadheads are known for their unique two-blade design, combining the advantages of fixed and mechanical broadheads. They offer excellent penetration, accuracy, and cutting diameter, making them a popular choice among archery and hunting enthusiasts for taking down game effectively and ethically. These broadheads come in various models to cater to different hunting scenarios and are recognized for their durability and sharpness.

Swhacker

Based on 214 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Our unique blade design provides you with two separate cutting edges. The first set of edges, also known as the wing blades, are used for cutting the hide and the first set of ribs. These blades are also used to open the Brodhead, and are much smaller than the Main blades. They take the most punishment by cutting through the hair, dirt, hide, and bones during entry. The smaller blades take less energy to penetrate through the first side than an open on impact Brodhead. These wing blades also provide a load bearing surface for the ferrule during impact. The second set of edges, or the main blades do not touch anything during the initial penetration. They still have virgin edges when they open in the body cavity. This allows the main blades to remain razor sharp for the internal organs.

  • Includes 3 broad heads
  • Our unique blade design provides you with two separate cutting edges
  • Opens so fast, you can hear the shack
  • Each set includes 3 broadheads
  • 125 Grain Expandable 2-Blade Broadhead
  • Blade: .032" thick, stainless steel, honed razor sharp
  • Ferrule: Anodized aircraft aluminum
  • Hardened high carbon steel point

User questions & answers

Question: Do they come with a practice head
Answer: This does come with a practice head. I've been using them for 4-5 years now, and they fly just like a field tip. Use the practice head for peace of mind, but don't be afraid to go back to your field tips. Good hunting!
Question: Will the 125 grain be good for a bow with a 55-60 pound draw weight with a 340 splined arrow
Answer: I have taken deer past 50 yards with a 60 pound draw weight with most being complete pass through. That being said shot placement and practice are essential. 125 grain is a good choice you may want to look at 100 grain which works as well.
Question: Is this 2.25 in or 1.75? Because in the size option it says 1.75 but the Description says
Answer: It starts out as 1.75 and opens to 2.25. I have had really good luck using these broad heads . Deer I have taken have not gone far. The greatest distance has been 75 yards and that was a bad shot on my part.
Question: Will these work with a crossbow? 360fps
Answer: I use the 125 grain Swacker board heads on my Mission crossbow rated at 360 feet/second with absolutely NO problems. I checked with the Swacker folks first and they advised that there was no problems using that broad head on my crossbow bolts. I have taken a number of game animals with fantastic results.

User questions & answers

Question: Will these mechanically work properly with a 400+ FPS crossbow bolt
Answer: They work great with my bow at 340fps. I cant say for 400+. They are making these bows too fast now. I heard of mechanicals not working with the new Mission bow. No need for crazy speeds. 300fps is plenty IMO. Good luck. These broadheads are sweet.
Question: Will these work with a center point sniper
Answer: Harvested a beautiful 8 point buck with this broadhead at 25 yards with a double lung shot from a Center Point Sniper 370. The broadhead worked flawlessly.
Question: I'm worried about blades opening in flight with my 370 fps crossbow. do these use rubber bands? Do they open in flight
Answer: They didn't open off a 440 Fps crossbow in flight, so you are likely fine. They use shrink wrap band which holds them in place. I stopped using them because I have had 2 out of 9 broadhead have the screw shear where the blades scissor on it and the blades came out. I recovered both those deer but it was tough going seeing the blades sheared off on entry. One hit ribs and the other hit the back of the shoulder blade. Not up to 400 fps+ velocities and any bone. I don't recommend them. Just use tried and true rage crossbow x or get the swat A4 or C4 broadheads. Both shoot like fieldpoints and have yet to fail.
Question: Do you geg a practice broadhead
Answer: Yes,but it is exactly like the actual tip when closed. It will get stuck in your target. I use the same weight field tips. These broadheads fly like a field tip. Already have a deer at butcher from opening weekend. 30 yards and down.

Swhacker Low Pound Broadhead (Pack of 3)

Swhacker

Based on 47 reviews Check latest price
  • Two blade mechanical broadhead
  • Sleek body design
  • Swept back blades for low draw weights

User questions & answers

Question: What does low poundage mean
Answer: Hey Bill! In this case, low poundage means less than 45 LBS. draw weight on a COMPOUND bow. It took me a good amount of searching to answer this question before I bought these, as Swhacker kind of hides the info on their website. I bought a set for my sister, who unfortunately didn't have occasion to use them (we got snowed out in deer season), but they seem to be nicely constructed and very sharp. Hope that helps!
Question: Would it work for a crossbow
Answer: I use my regular 100 grain 2" cut shockers in my bow and crossbow..I just switch them out but I'm not sure on a crossbow, but I would honestly think it would

User questions & answers

Question: Are they the same as the crossbow heads
Answer: Yes they are swhackers are the nest broadhead ive ever used i used same on on two deer try that with a rage hypo
Question: Do these expand on impact like the real ones
Answer: I don't have the 2" practice heads, but I do have the 1.75" ones. They do not open on contact, the blades always remain in the closed position. I don't know of any reason why the 2" practice heads would be any different, it would defeat the purpose of them being produced for practice.
Question: What type of targets can you shoot these at
Answer: Best target you can DYI. Get a cardboard box (about 18" across,), fill it with old cloths and towels. It will stop anything. Field or broad heads. Field points will pull out with two fingers. Broad heads, you will need to unscrew the broad head to pull it back out. The practice heads you are asking about will sometimes need to be unscrewed, sometimes come out.
Question: Are these in the closed position
Answer: The picture is in the open position. The practice tips are sold in the closed position and do not open. They fly true the actual broad heads.

User questions & answers

Question: I can't find replacement bands for 125 grain heads. Would the 100 Grain bands work on these
Answer: I'm 99% sure they will. They are basically the same size where the groove is cut in for the flat rubber band. These are the best flying heads i have ever used @ got most of my buddy's on to them. Almost 100% kills with them unless a poorly placed shot. Get on Amazon ,think that's where i get my replacement bands @ blades. Good luck!!
Question: Are they ready to go right out of the box or do I have to remove a band or something
Answer: Ready to go.
Question: What is the difference between this broadhead (model swh00231) and model swh
Answer: Swh00231 is for Crossbows. You can go to Swhacker.com.
Question: Will my barnett recruit crossbow work okay with this
Answer: Depends on which one. If it is the terrain recruit then yes. If it is the recurve then no. They make a 1.75 I believe that will work. I emailed then for my wife's and that's what they said for her recurve.

User questions & answers

Question: why don't they fly right passed 20 yards
Answer: Mine fly true out to 60 yards. If you have a high speed crossbow you’re scope might not be built for a high speed crossbow even if it came with it. My scope came with my crossbow but wouldn’t work past 30 yards because it wasn’t built for it so I had to buy another scope I got the Excalibur Tact Zone Scope and haven’t had any problems since.
Question: Will they work for compound bows
Answer: YES but don't forget to reset your sights. These are 150gr points
Question: Should I use these or the 125 grain , 2.25 inch cut swhackers , which is better
Answer: I shoot a EXCALIBUR Ibex and the field points are 150 grain and the scope markings are for 150 grain points
Question: What FPS are theses rated at
Answer: i have shot the 125 gr at 390 fps and they flew fine

Ramcat Pivoting Broadheads (Hydroshock - 100 Grain)

Ramcat

Based on 463 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Incorporating proven aircraft technology, Ramcat is the first fixed-blade broadhead that flies exactly like a field point when shot from any bow, at any speed. The Hydroshock features front and rear sharpened blades which pivot on impact to improve quartering-shot performance and penetration.

The Hydroshock broadhead features Ramcat’s patented Airfoil System found on the ferrule. This concave scoop design creates an airfoil that eliminates wind planing for renowned field point accuracy.

On impact, these scoops turn the head into a hydrodynamic plow. The airfoils created by the scoops push body mass outward, away from the arrow shaft, creating wound channels much larger than the cutting diameter and resulting in devastating penetration.

Firenock aero concentric technology uses two o-rings to keep the shank perfectly aligned in the insert, eliminating thread slip. This, combined with our blade over shaft technology, results in one of the most aerodynamic broadheads on the market.

Like all Ramcat products, the Hydroshock is designed to hit like a ram, cut like a cat, and open the BLOODGATES. Order yours today!

  • PIVOTING BROADHEADS: Pivots as needed to keep arrow driving on impact, even when coming in contact with bone. The most accurate, deepest 100 grain penetrating fixed blade broadhead in the world that flies like a field point.
  • AIRFOIL AERODYNAMICS: Deep lobes on tip creates an airfoil that eliminates wind planing for field point accuracy. The concave scoop technology on these arrows for compound bows makes for maximum accuracy, eliminates wind, and a silent flight.
  • BACK CUT TECHNOLOGY: The 0.032-inch, rear-sharpened, stainless steel blades are silent in flight and in the event of no pass-through continue to maximize devastation on both the front and rear of blades. Works well for turkey hunting and deer hunting.
  • BLADE OVER SHAFT TECHNOLOGY: Blades are cantilevered over the arrow shaft and offset in the broadhead body creating a powerful vortex cut and incredible aerodynamics. These screw in arrow tips are easy to use and feature a two O-ring insert system.
  • 3 PACK: Includes three per pack! These broadheads create a powerful vortex cut and incredible aerodynamics, have field point accuracy and are deadly quiet in flight. Purchase compound bow separately for the full set up.
  • It has field point accuracy and is deadly quiet in flight
  • Includes three per pack

User questions & answers

Question: Is this actually from Fulton Precison Archery? My understanding is that there are counterfeits in the market just called "Ramcats
Answer: I know this is an old question, but I've hunted Ramcats for a couple years now, and the last order I placed for a new set from Amazon were counterfeit...literally shipped to me without packaging straight from a Chinese factory in Chengxin. The construction was different (the ones I got from Ramcat were solid/sealed, the Chinese versions were hollow, covered in grease, and without any packaging), the O-rings were oversized and falling out...I do not trust the weight or flight of them so I'm returning them. Very disappointed in Amazon's QC here, this is a first for me. I will not order any more of these products from amazon. See pics in my review, which, btw, was glowing for Ramcats at large, but I got nothing for these fakes.
Question: How do they perform on elk
Answer: Passed all the way thru an elk this year quartering away at 52 yards. Incredible success. The shot went in just in front of the left rear leg and exited just behind the front right elbow/ shoulder. Total pass thru 4’ of internals in an elk. Great job!
Question: These are advertised as crossbow broadheads.. the part number for the crossbow heads are r2000 ... the package i received was part number r
Answer: I have both the crossbow version and the traditional. From everything I can tell, (weight, size, appearance, etc.) they are identical. I have even shot both together out of my compound out to 100 yards. The they are indistinguishable where they hit. I think the only difference is marketing.
Question: How do they shoot thru the shoot thru mesh on a ground blind
Answer: I have shot through mesh and found it to cause some shots to be off substantially at 20 yards. I suggest cutting a small hanging flap out of the mesh in the middle area of areas in the blind where you have viable shooting lanes then tape it up when hunting. If the taped up flap is 3x3 inches the deer will not see your movement as long as you are wearing dark clothing and moving slow. TAKE PRACTICE SHOTS FIRST ON A TARGET TO WORK OUT YOUR STEPS QUIETLY. This solves the issue and you can be sure of the shot. The ramcats are awesome. Seven deer and counting this season. Six of them were taken with ramcats and my Mathews bow.
