Answer: Oh my friend, this is as good as it gets. I bought this as a working blade. It works! Fruit, gallon jugs, rolled up magazines, 3" thick cardboard tubing and 1.5" thick solid saplings fall under this mighty blade. I tried frozen meat, meh, not so much. It was not as razor sharp as I had wanted, so I utilized my Spyderco Tri-Angle sharp maker. Now this sword can slict through the shadows and even split light!! Ok maybe not that sharp, but a great improvement! But the quality and STURDINESS of this blade is top notch, the first thing I cut was an aged 4 foot long 2x6 ( yes I treated this svelte weapon like an axe) and it split it effortlessly. Its heavy though so be careful! If you haven't yet watch the you tube videos on the cold steel katana.

Answer: years ago I purchased a Cold steel Kahana from a knife dealer. I paid 600.00 plus for the product. I gave it away to a family member and I recently sought to replace that sword. I purchase the one from Amazon for under 300.00it is the same sword, cold steel , and a quality product with no defects. I could chop down a tree with this sword, if I ever wanted too.Hope this helps.
