| Answer: | 70 is a ball compression index value for this ball. The higher the compression number, the more club speed is needed to properly compress the ball when striking. If you have a slower swing (and therefore slower club head speed) you will be able to compress this ball and get good distance from it. The hardest golf balls have a compression rating of 100 or higher (for club head speeds of 100+ mph). If you have a slow club head speed, these higher compression balls can feel like you are hitting a rock. Many seniors (like me!) play lower compression balls to get better distance off the tee. I have used both of the balls you mention and like them both. |

Within our product line we have golf balls that are much higher in compression yet feel very soft. We hesitate to release compression numbers because it may lead to confusion regarding the actual feel of the golf ball. |
