Answer:	It would probably keep you warm enough, but it is designed for surfing and paddle boarding. I don't think it would be that comfortable for swimming laps in. You would probably be better off with a specialized triathlon style wetsuit from a brand like Orca.

Answer:	this jacket is great but it is supposed to fit tight and I think it even runs a bit small so you should be good with the XS. if it is too tight around the waist it tends to roll up like a shade. I know this because I lent it to someone a bit bigger than myself and she had that problem, hope this helps.....
