Answer: | it does measure 40" in length not stretched out. I was able to put it under my foot and stretch it out to about 84" easily. I am 6' tall and weigh 220 lbs. shoulder surgery and elbow issues make doing pull ups an issue. I got this band to use as a pull up assist. I does not work so well for my body type for that but my wife is about 5' 5" and weighs 105 lbs and she uses it for pull ups without issue. I am going to order the black band for my use. Answer: | Not sure about over door bars, but works well on monkey bars and pull up bars at the park or trails. The band is very sturdy and can hold weight. When I first started using it I was close to 300 lbs. I'm 5'8 so it will hold, just don't know about the door frame. Good luck. |

To be honest, it is a little difficult to describe but if you search up " resistance band assisted pull ups" on youtube the first few videos give a tutorial on how to do so.
