Answer:	I have the black one. I love it, but the paint has scratched off in a few spots. I’m careful with it, but I do carry it in my messenger bag. I’m extremely careful with what I put next to it, so I have to conclude the places without paint are due to rubbing against fabric.

Answer:	I left coffee in my mug for several weeks (misplaced the mug) and the smell inside was horrible, even after going through hot water washes/soaking/dishwasher. But I got it brand new again, here’s how: OxyClean is amazing for removing coffee and tea stains, and all smells, from stainless, mugs, whatever. It was great on the hard plastic parts as well. The silicone circular gasket and plug on the too inside of the lid were what stunk the worst, and nothing helped, even prolonged soaks and scrubbing in OxyClean. But they are SILICONE, and the internet taught me that the best way to get smells out of silicone is by baking it (thanks, Instapot owners!) I placed the silicone pieces on a small baking sheet in my oven at 350 degrees F, and baked for about 30 minutes. The smell baked right out of them; it was amazing!

Answer:	You can drink while driving. The lid will not entirely block your vision.
Question:	why does it say keep hot for 12 but when I actually got it ...its actually 8 hours
Answer:	First, you must preheat the bottle with boiling or very hot water before filling with your coffee or whatever. This is key to keeping drinks hot (not just warm) for 12 hours. Second, make sure your drink is very hot when you put it into the thermos. And of course, when you drink from your thermos, close it up again, don't leave it standing open like a mug of coffee. Do this, and drinks DO keep very hot for 12 hours.
Question:	If this thermos keeps hot liquids hot for 12 hours, why does the wrapper on it say it keeps liquids hot for 8 hours
Answer:	If you pre-heat the thermos by putting HOT water in it first for about ten minutes, it will stay hot for 12 hrs....if you are going to drink fom the thermos (like me) I do not pre heat. I put my hot coffee in and have it finished in about five. It's an excellent thermos. Enjoy!

Answer:	Yes you can! I have the silver version of this but it's identical in the cover and my latch stopped locking. You can't buy it online BUT YOU CAN call Thermos directly (as of June 2014 - 1-800-831-9242 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday.). Tell them model number (Model # JMW500). It will cost you about $8 shipped for one (in the USA). Just note that this seems to be a common issue (that being the tops breaking) as when I ordered a replacement lid this past March 2014, they were out of stock of covers until about June 2014. They will take your name and email and send you a note when they come back into stock (but it's probably better to just call them again instead of getting lost in the shuffle). Great mug overall except for this as it does keep my coffee hot all day long. Good luck!

Answer:	This is what my wife has discovered regarding this issue over several months of use. Leaking will depend on how much care one takes at making certain that the screw-down cap is properly aligned and appropriate amount of torque, or twist pressure, is used. So, leaking is possible, but can be avoided if one takes care to go through some experimental trial & error in order to find the "sweet spot" for the cap. As a precautionary measure, she puts the thermos inside a plastic bag as a back-up measure.

(if you don't want to dilute your milk, make some 'milk cubes' and use them for cooling. (ps. that doesn't work for vodka)ps; make sure you really clean it well after using *any* non-water item; the o-ring and the dimple seal both come out and should be removed once in a while to clean under them; especially the dimple seal; bacteria will grow under it (between the dimple and the top); fortunately that is not in contact with the liquid ever but will stink up to high heaven or also make your water 'smell like coffee'.

Answer:	It is not leak proof. I tried to use it for seltzer and it leaked everytime. If the bottle doesn't stand straight up, it leaks.

Answer:	Amazon has a replacement seal set that 'kindof' works for this. Main gasket is not as easy to install as the original, and I couldn't get the smaller seal tomgit at all, but only my main seal was damaged and it's better than a leak or replacing the whole bottle. Answer:	Yes pretty much. I don’t drink water, I drink Diet Coke instead and this is where I settled. Yeti bottle kinda works too but I keep coming back to this one for the capacity and reliability. For cans, there’s thermos can holder and It works pretty good too. I use it for beer and coke cans but carbonation lasts only for few hours.

Question:	Will this Tritan lid fit the old Intak bottle
Answer:	Unfortunately I never have Tritan brand water bottle before so I have to clue.
Question:	Is there a straw included? One of the reviews stated "no straw
Answer:	No straw. You have to tip your head back slightly to drink. My daughter likes this one better than most other water bottles because the part you drink out of is covered and therefore unlikely to contact the ground if the water bottle falls.
Question:	how long liquid is kept cold
Answer:	It is not insulated. So it will keep cold as long as the ice lasts :)
Question:	Can I buy the cap only? The caps break quite easily when dropped, so I have several bottles with no caps. I keep buying new bottles
Answer:	I know it sucks, I love the design but the little plastic catch is its fatal flaw. One drop and its done. Problem is we keep buying them, so they have no incentive to fix it. I'm on the look out for a good alternative :-) Let me know.

What is Vacuum Insulation?

Vacuum means the air between the outer and inner layers of stainless steel has been removed to create a vacuum insulation. It blocks heat from transferring through air (conduction). Zojirushi vacuum insulation also features a copper or aluminum layer tightly wrapped around the outside of the inner stainless steel layer. This copper or aluminum layer reflects heat (radiation), further minimizing the temperature change of your drink. Lastly, heat is blocked from escaping through the opening (convection) with a tightly closed lid.
