| Answer: | I'm not sure what the angle is but because this knife is a scandinavian grind with a convex edge I have seen a video on YouTube that recommends getting an old foam mouse pad and a fine grit sand paper and laying the sand paper on the mouse pad and dragging the blade backwards in a stropping motion. The foam mouse pad will allow you to hold the proper angle and press down enough to still work the entire grind with the correct amount of pressure. That has been the best solution I have found but do a search for sharpening convex grinds first, you may find a better solution. |

(I think the black coating is to keep it from accidentally making sparks during shipping, handling, etc.) Of course, in order to make fire you'll need sticks, wood and something to catch the spark like dry moss/lint/etc. |
