| Answer: | That was a good question. I just checked. I think it's just a layer of the black felt over the wood backing so I wasn't able to push a tack in any distance at all. I'm not sure why you would need to though. The hanger is essentially just a straight acrylic rod that you put the jersey on and then hook it into place. You don't really see the hanger. There isn't much space between the backing and the acrylic door, so it will hold your jersey in place pretty well as well as any other items that you might want to put in there. As I mentioned, I did add a folded over scarf into the box and it fits flat, but you wouldn't be able to put anything thicker in there. There might be enough room to add a thin layer of foam if you really want to tack something. It sure beats the price of having it professionally done, somewhere around 200- 300 dollars. Once you receive your shadow box, open the back and remove the glass and removable wooden insert from the frame. Next, place the glass back into the frame first, followed by the wooden insert. Now you can add photos or objects to your shadow box before putting the back on. |
