Answer:	The jacket is relatively warm for rainy weather days, so depending on where you are located then it may be sufficient for the winter months. However, if you will be in locations with cold winter weather then I do not believe this jacket will be sufficient as it is more of a warm rain jacket than a warm winter jacket.

The shoulders seem just a tad wider also. I'm older so I love that too. The grey/navy is what I bought. It is just a shade or two darker than the pictured model. I've grown to like the Resolve II better than the Resolve I.
