I live in Israel where we have a lot of sunshine all year around, and I have used this kind of shades for the last 50 years ! I love the atmosphere they make, and I wouldn't dream of changing them for any other kind of blinds. By the way, the one's on the photo here are a very good quality ! Good luck !

Answer:	I would say no, they cannot be trimmed, unless you have a professional cutter which will cut a straight line on bamboo. You also have to avoid the vertical seam which holds the shade together. So no, not really.
