Answer:	The way it is built I would say yes (depending on your load). I have not used it yet but looked at the design and construction and it is VERY well built and designed with a locking mechanism to avoid hook slips.

Answer:	It's marked as Ruipoo but my item was defective and although it was replaced twice.... all three had a defect.

Answer:	About to order one of these for a different purpose but your question needs answering from experience. Back in '01 I had a stroke. My balance is gone. I'm a photographer and spend a lot of time in hard terrain from mountains and deserts to rocky coastlines. Honestly you would be better off with an adjustable Trekking pole. Going up? Shorten it and lean into the climb, going down? Lengthen it and lean out from the climb. Will serve you better for balance issues than a grappling hook.

Answer:	I wouldn't depend on this for safety as far as climbing but it is extremely strong. I use it for pulling stumps and big items out of the water and it works great. It has not bent or failed in any way. In all reality it would probably be plenty strong enough for what you want but I personally wouldn't depend on it with my own safety as that wasn't really what it's designed for.

Answer:	I wouldn't use this for climbing. I used it( along with a length of chain to reclaim a rod and reel from the bottom of the lake) . Not going to hold a person's weight. Read the description.

Answer:	No. It is not. It is, however, a nice design and very useful.
