Answer:	The mesh is not removable. It does have ties to keep the entrance open like a door. But I have considered cutting mine out since its main use for me is a winter tent.

Answer:	just one Trekking pole is needed to set up this tent. In fact it is possible to set up this tent without any poles if you set it up directly under an overhanging tree branch.

Answer:	Well, as you see in pictures posted by others, the front has a zipper and this tent can be 'sealed' by staking the tent to the ground. By doing that you will increase the level of moisture that accumulates inside the tent.
Question:	What is the length trekking pole you recommend to get the tent nice and tight
Answer:	Almost all tents such as this are set for 125cm or 49.2". You can also make a custom 3oz pole for this by using the Weanas 11' 3" aluminum pole (8.5mm diameter) and removing all but 4 sections and then reinstalling the other end lug to end up with a pole exactly 125cm long.

Can be set up without any poles

The Skyscape Scout is a great option for budget hikers getting into lightweight backpacking. the Skyscape Scout now features new longer 3mm cord rear guy outs (not shown in photos) which provide improved interior height at the foot and increased ventilation at the rear. Answer:	It's about a foot and a half long, give or take a few inches, depending how you pack it. It's about 6" around, again give or take an inch depending how much you compress. It's too large for the inside of small and some medium packs. Straps to outside of any pack just fine.

Answer:	I'm 5'11 290 pounds and I fit in this thing pretty well...there isn't too much room to move around  but it's awesome just for sleeping and I could fit my backpack in there also. it weighs around three and a half pounds
Question:	is this suitable for cold weather---not winter, just cold weather? and is it waterproof
Answer:	The entire tent is mesh, and the rainfly is separate from the tent. There is about a 1" gap between the two, so what condensation does form, will be on the outside of the tent, and run down to the ground.
Question:	do I need hammer and stakes to make this stand? It says it is free-standing...I am going to a rocky terrain and don't want to lug hammer
Answer:	YES. At your head or your feet. I camped with this tent and an Alice pack. The pack and my boots were above my pillow. I'm 6' 2". A little hard to get in and out of but worth the trade off in space and weight savings.

Question:	Does your tent have a seam across the bottom of the floor? Does it leak at the seam
Answer:	Mine does not have a seam across the bottom (that would be weird). It doesn’t leak at the seams but the bathtub/floor part is not extremely water resistant. Every time I have gone camping with the alps tent it has rained heavily and everything that touches the ground gets damp. I’m not sure a footprint would make a big difference because rain water can just dribble in between the two. I just bought a nikwax sealant to see if I can improve it.

Answer:	I put this tent in a Kelty 6 inch diam. x 12 inch compression bag. it will compress to 8 to 10 " I don't full compress it. Just to the width of my back pack. I stow the poles and pegs separate.

Answer:	Yes, very waterproof. My husband used it to go deer hunting in a downpour, so it was a good test of the waterproofing. He discovered it is a summer tent, with great ventilation, which he didn't want in a winter storm. It was barely large enough for him or two smaller children. It sets up easily too.

Answer:	I live in an arid region in the Caribbean and I ordered this tent in 2016, 4 years ago. I just opened it again last night for the first time in years and set it up in my lockdown back garden which is on the ground (more like sand here on the equator) to have a spontaneous outside camping night. Well next to being virtually in a new bought state with no discoloration, or time induced damage the tent was virtually dustless .. I can know as I have severe allergies and hayfever. INNOVATIVE DESIGN, STORM-WORTHY MATERIALS

The X-Mid achieves its impressive specs through an innovative design with a diagonal inner inside a rectangular-based fly. This allows the poles and peaks to be moved inwards from the edges without interfering with doors and living space, eliminating vertical, wind-catching walls and the need for peak guyouts. The tent is made of 20d 420T 100-percent polyester with a 2000mm sil/PU coating. ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The peak features 210d black nylon used to form a reinforcing cone, along with a quarter-inch grommet for the trekking pole tip. Vents above each door consist of overlapping panels of fabric that can be propped apart with a strut. In tough conditions, the peak guylines can be deployed, along with extra stakes at the eight additional stake points around the perimeter. The inner uses a unique parallelogram shape to take full advantage of the area inside the fly. Answer:	It is waterproof, but it does sweat some. Also if raining hard, since opens from top, like other similar tents, you might get wet somewhat. In addition, I am not happy with foldable frame pikes, they were all too long and did not work properly, o e actually broke because too long, too tight. Not happy about tent, would not buy another.
