Answer:	Yes, very waterproof. My husband used it to go deer hunting in a downpour, so it was a good test of the waterproofing. Answer:	I live in an arid region in the Caribbean and I ordered this tent in 2016, 4 years ago. I just opened it again last night for the first time in years and set it up in my lockdown back garden which is on the ground (more like sand here on the equator) to have a spontaneous outside camping night. Well next to being virtually in a new bought state with no discoloration, or time induced damage the tent was virtually dustless .. I can know as I have severe allergies and hayfever. I swear it also rooted the weeds that were growing and sweeped the back porch clean of dust&sand too. exiting the tent I felt like I freshly showered and my clothes were folded too! Question:	With the rain fly on is there any cross ventilation? Looks like not which means it would get very hot inside during a warm weather rain
Answer:	It handled the wind and heavy rain storm a few weeks ago while camping just fine. Use all the stakes and tie downs and it will preform like a champ! Set up is easy with another person...by yourself it could be tough but I haven't given that a try. Hope that helps!

Question:	Does your tent have a seam across the bottom of the floor? Does it leak at the seam
Answer:	Mine does not have a seam across the bottom (that would be weird). It doesn’t leak at the seams but the bathtub/floor part is not extremely water resistant. Every time I have gone camping with the alps tent it has rained heavily and everything that touches the ground gets damp. I’m not sure a footprint would make a big difference because rain water can just dribble in between the two. I just bought a nikwax sealant to see if I can improve it.

Answer:	Hi, Top-back vents are used instead of Bottom-back vents as of February 2018. Ideally, you want top-back vents to release the moisture exhaled from your lungs as you sleep (so you don't wake up wet) and to keep snakes from slithering into your tent while you sleep (as well as other creepy crawlies). Bottom-back vents are easy to cover up by accident when using a sleeping pad/sleeping bag. To increase your comfort levels in unexpected rainstorms, consider purchasing the 12-foot tarp below (and coating the inside and outside with at least two layers of Scotchguard Waterproofing Spray with a P95 mask and allowing at least 12 - 24 hours dry time in between coats of Scotchguard): Kelty Noah's Tarp 12 - 2013 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009R9FUI2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_YFIyDbR35EJ3D I've used the 12-foot tarp above, successfully, with many tents and hammocks with no issues. Just try to have Gap of at least a few inches between the bottom of the tarp of the top of your tent/hammock when using. It's an old law I've followed to prevent water transfer, possible standing water weight on the gear below the tarp and to provide peace of mind. Question:	does the Pole need to be inserted in the ground
Answer:	No. You use your own trekking poles to set up this tent. It is intended to be set up with the handle on the ground and the metal tip pointed up. Insert the metal tip into the holder at the top of the ridge line, designed to hold the metal trekking pole tip. You can also set this tent up tied between two trees or using two sticks off the ground, or You could also set it up with the trekking pole tip down and insert the guy-line through the handle straps. So you do not need to insert the poles into the ground. The tent is secured by the triangle formation and the guy-lines so it holds up well in the wind or weather, even though the pole is not inserted into the ground.

Answer:	While I have used this tent with a queen sized air mattress, it didn't really work. You cant zip the door shut along the bottom, and it takes up all of the floor space. If you are fine with that, then go for it.

Answer:	A full sized American pickup truck, GMC Chevy, Dodge Ram, and Ford/Lincoln all have 48" between the wheel wells. A long bed, or full size bed, will measure 4' between the wheel wells X 8' in length. If you have the luxury of driving a truck right up to where you're setting up camp: sleep in the truck. Sleep in the cab. Get a camper shell. Get a tonneau cover, and sleep under the tonneau. Use the stake pockets on your bed rails, and improvise shelter with a tarp. Do I need to point out that since you have the luxury of a truck, by all means do not sleep on the ground?
