Answer:	It is a total of 3 axes. The description is correct. I imagine the multiple pictures are to give you an idea of what your collection could look like if you purchased other Smith & Wesson products... As an aside, these axes were worth it. I’m a beginner, but they feel well-weighted. Once I got the hang of the distance I needed to stand from the target for my “sticking point,” these axes have been easy to use.

I don’t know what type (ferritic, austenitic, etc) or grade (310, 410, etc) of stainless steel they are, but they are well crafted and VERY sharp. We use these quite often and sharpen them after each use, but they’ve held up nicely.

If the material is too hard, the knives may bend and break. I give it a 9.5/10 for durability over all. Definitely worth the buy.

Blade Edge Requires Sharpening for Uses Other Than Throwing

Each head is designed for axe throwing which doesn't require a super sharp blade edge. For uses other than throwing such as chopping and splitting, these blades may require additional sharpening.

Friction Fit Head Design

You will likely experience the separation of the axe head from the handle if the head or handle hit the target incorrectly.

Other products use a set screw to attached the head to handle. We believe a set screw doesn't offer a true and proper fit and it compromises the handles integrity.

Thus, we use a friction fit design that requires friction to hold the head and handle. Proper fit is required for this design to work correctly. If your head and handle separate frequently without reason, it is likely the handle needs to be sanded a bit where the fit is wrong.

Different Sizes Are Available for Younger Throwers

Straight Grain Handles

Grain refers to the direction of the "veins" of the wood. Wood will split easier if you are cutting in the direction of the grain. When chopping wood you try to cut along the grain to split the wood. If you were to use cross grain handles it just wouldn't make sense for throwing (they would break much easier). By selling only straight grain handles we are offering you the most durable handles available.

Hickory Is Ergonomically Better For Comfort And Stress Reduction

Hickory logs produce the best handles and are selected for their heavy weight, and straight grain.

The U.S. Forest Products Lab has found no difference in white or red hickory's strength. Therefore, the best hickory handles may be white, red or a mixture of both.

Hickory is a natural shock absorber and has excellent strength for tool handles.

American Hickory is the most sought after wood material to use for your axes and tomahawks. Answer:	The natural steel and polished chrome versions are high carbon steel and left without a painted finish. There may be an oil residue on there to prevent rusting in transit. High carbon steel will rust quite easily so it is important to care for the steel after use as well as keep the surface free of moisture as much as possible. Natural and Polished Chrome are both bare steel while the blue steel version has a rust protectant coating in addition to the oil on the finish.

Answer:	I believe Its mainly intended as a throwing hawk! And it preforms that funtion very well .but i use it for light camp chores as well like chopping kindling sharpening stakes or pegs! Its a little light to do much bigger tasks without damaging it or yourself. Question:	I just bought two of these, one of them was missing the screws and allen wrench. Can i get those pieces shipped to me
Answer:	I had the same issue. The manufacturer of this particular throwing ax does not make a sheath or any type of frog or tak. most carriers used this style of axe to throw and would just slide in a belt or use a ring frog to carry. I hade a leather shop hand make sheath/frog tak for each of my 4 axes like this one. I do not like nylon or rubber blade covers and replace with leather tak handmade for each of my axes. They are well balanced and do throw well. I did put a sharper edge on mine as the edge from the forge was not well enough to get a good stick into the wood target. I hope this helps. Some resellers will add an edge cover but rarely a sheath.

Question:	Is this axe made in china? And this brand
Answer:	Measuring from the center of the handle to the tip of the spike is approx. 3.5". From blade tip to spike tip is approx. 7.5". I think this may vary slightly from hawk to hawk due to edge grinding.
Question:	What metal is this throwing axe made of
Answer:	I would say no, the sheath is just a very simple one with one belt loop in the back.
Question:	Is it good for throwing axe
Answer:	Technically, you could use your fist as a hammer, but should you? NO... This tomahawk is not a serious hard use tool. It may be an effective thrower, but the handle is not steel. Notice that the axe head and the butt of the handle are fixed with screws to a polymer handle. If you want a hard use hatchet/tomahawk then buy one that is one solid piece of steel.
Question:	Would this axe be good for wood carving
Answer:	Yes. It is sharp, durable, and it throws well. But will take lots of practice if you are going to hunt by throwing it.
