Answer:	Vertical with no interference is ideal. Because I am most often hanging for overnight, I have never selected a more horizontal anchor point. Even for leisure in the yard I choose vertical anchor points. Palms are fine. Remember palms grow from a root ball not a tap or spread root system, and that means they can be pulled over easier.

Answer:	These straps are clearly labeled separately, 200# max per strap.

Answer:	These are designed to hug trees, posts, rafters, beams, and the like. I have never considered that hang with straps.

Answer:	I put them up as high as I can reach from the ground.

Answer:	These work like any straps will, only they are much lighter in your bag (perfect for hiking). As long as your hammock hooks to straps (and I haven't see one that doesn't) these will work.

Answer:	Yes, this strap is like their other straps but much lighter. It protects the tree and attaches securely to your hammock. I’m a pretty heavy guy and it held me fine. I don’t think the tree even knew I was there.

Question:	Can I throw these in the washer if dirty
Answer:	Yes, you can machine wash. Then either dry on low or hang dry them. Don't dry them on high because they are made of polyester and can get damaged in high heat.
Question:	I bought the 40 loop but the trees are fat enough that they are about 2 feet short. What can I do to extend them? Can I just buy another set
Answer:	I do that. Also my hammocks have ropes so I use the original ropes to extend on the big tree, and to make it even up.

Answer:	Any climbing rated carabiner would be plenty strong to hang a hammock on, and these straps have nice big loop that would work perfectly.

When hanging the straps on crossbeams we recommend smoothing out any sharp corners or edges that may cause undue friction. But nevertheless safety is always paramount, we would strongly recommend inspecting the strap before every use to make sure the straps integrity has not been compromised. Question:	where are these made
Answer:	No. It should spin without doing anything to it.
Question:	Does the green on the strap match the green and khaki hammock color
Answer:	The straps cant physically be shortened, but you could use extra felt padding on the branch (or whatever your hanging from) to make one shorter. The strap feeds thru itself to go around the branch so if the branch is fatter the strap will be shorter overall.
Question:	I know that the combined weight rating for these is 400 lbs, but how much weight were they stress tested to handle
Answer:	I bought the 8 ft one. It is similar to seatbelt material with a closed loop at one end and metal hardware at the other. You attach to the tree or other support by laying the strap over the branch and feeding the hardware end all the way through the loop until it cinches snugly around the branch. The only way to shorten it is to wrap it around the tree branch multiple times until you get the desired length or tie a knot to use up some of the excess length. At least that is my take on it.
