Answer:	Regarding my black pair with the synthetic upper, imported. NO. I have a brown pair, imported, with leather upper at home that I like a little better. I wonder if they are only making synthetic uppers now. I would think that brown pair is similar regarding the interior of the shoe but will check. I don't know what shoe the "yes" answer refers to but there is no pad that can be removed in this shoe. I think my black pair was made in the US (was stated as much in the product info when I purchased a month or two ago) as it cost more to make here and I assumed they used synthetic to cover the extra cost. Now it seems both colors are synthetic and imported.

Answer:	The description says just under 6 inches on each side, square base. So about 8.5 inches diagonal. I like an aluminum pie plate under it, or an aluminum roaster from Dollar Store, and that helps as a windscreen also.

Answer:	This stove has a slide in flat piece of metal that has small tabs on one side . this steel slides in a slot located below the fold down wire fire suport, it slides in from the hinged side of the stove, the tabs slide in last.....I hope this helps its a great stove !!

Answer:	It’s a small wood burning stove. The holes in the grid are pretty tiny, and very close to the ground. When the sticks burn enough that their coals can fit through the grid, they’ll basically be just ash at that point. But yes, that ash and any coals smaller than the tip of your ring finger will fall through the grid. Unless you’re using it long enough that the whole area fills, you’ll still get enough air flow through it to have a nice hot fire.

How A Rocket Stove Works:

1. The Elbow – a fire-proof L-shaped pipe with a 90deg bend in the middle. The horizontal portion of the elbow is the fuel chamber and air inlet. The vertical portion is the combustion chamber and chimney.
2. The Stove Body – an insulated surround for the elbow, capable of withstanding the high heat from the elbow. A hole in the top allows the chimney to exit upwards.
3. Fuel – ideally the fuel needs to sit up off the bottom of the fuel chamber. Normally a metal grate provides airflow under and around the fuel. This allows any ash to fall through and be removed.
