User questions & answers
Question: | How easy it to clean the grill side |
Answer: | Unless I'm cooking for a crowd I use this one for just the two of us. It's pretty easy to clean up with warm soapy water and a mostly wrung out cloth. |
Question: | Can someone tell me the difference between the coleman camp propane grill/stove and the coleman perfect flow grill stove |
Answer: | To answer your question I have non perfect flow stove/grill ;model 2000020925and it works great have been using it for 3 years straight. The difference is size in demensions. The perfect flow model 2000022344 is 24 x 12.5 x 7.8 and has a btu of up to 22,000. the non perfect flow stove/grill, model 2000020925 is 23.9 x 12.3 x 7.7 with a btu up to 20,000. Supposed the perfect flow controls the heat better in extreme condition. Well I live in a tent all year round and the cheaper one, model 2000020925 has never let me down over 3 yrs. The electric start went out after 6 months but I use it twice a day 365 days a year. In the light rain, and wind up to 20mph it has never given me a problem so I can't see paying the extra price for the perfect flow technology that I'm sure is no better than this model with a much smaller price tag. |
Question: | Does this grill/stove work with the small propane cylinders |
Answer: | Danielle, yes this stove will work with the 16oz. propane tanks. It will also work with a 5 gallon tank with the right hose and adapter. Since I have an RV, I bought the hose and adapter, so I can use the RV's onboard propane tank. It's a lot cheaper than buying the 16oz tanks! |
Question: | Why doesn't anyone know which griddle can fit this stove |
Answer: | This one worked just fine for me! Easy to clean. The long feet doesnt make a difference to the cooking. Just make sure the wind shields are up when using it. The only issue I may have with it is, either my grill is not leveled or the grease run off doesn't really work as good but nothing a spatula can't handle by just pushing the grease down to the drip holes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009PUPRE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

Question: | Is there a removable drip pan |
Answer: | You're absolutely correct. It doesn't really come with suction cups only sticky stuff. I couldn't return it because it worked with the initial setup. Hope this helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the outside dimensions |
Answer: | The dimensions of this grill are 16.6" x 14.5" x 6.8". |
Question: | Does it come with the grate so you can use it as a stove top to boil water |
Answer: | It comes with a slotted grate but you can purchase a solid grill top from Coleman’s site. You can use a pot on the included slotted grate. |
Question: | Is there any recommended cooking tools |
Answer: | I just use the regular grill tools. Since I've been lining the bottom around the outside of flame with foil - very little cleanup except the grill part. Can't imagine the mess without doing that. I use this grill a lot. |
Question: | I am interested in this product as a hurricane preparedness measure. Could I use it to boil water? Could I use it inside if conditions required it |
Answer: | It would be too dangerous to use it inside since it uses propane gas which needs plenty of ventilation to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. I would say that you could boil water with this grill OUTSIDE. You can also purchase separately an accessory that turns the fold n go grill into a stove. Hope this helps. |

Answer: | there is no low/high theres regulator to grill can hooked to propane tank if buy right kind hose and bottles.. although i have it for 5 years still works worth while |
Question: | Does each burner have its own variable heat control |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Does this grill come with the gas cylinder hook-up hose |
Answer: | No. However, Amazon sells several hose adapters to connect the grill's regulator to a 20# propane tank. If you ever have to replace the regulator, know that there are TWO regulators listed as "compatible" with the Roadtrip LX (model 9941-455) grill: part #9942-5251 (snap-on) or #9942A5251 (thread on). Be certain you order the correct one from a site like ereplacementparts.com (nobody seems to be selling them on Amazon, unfortunately) since even the Coleman.com website fails to offer them. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be adapted to a hard gas line |
Answer: | If you look closely, you can see the openings in each side of the lid. This vents the smoke and heat build-up from the unit. If the wind strikes the sides of the unit, it will blow into the cooking and burner area. This may cause the unit to go out. Wind from either side will at least take the heat away, making cooking almost impossible in a continuous wind. Since the size of the unit allows it to be moved easily, locating the wind to the back of the unit help deter the problem. High winds can play havoc with most all grills, though. We use ours in a "protected" area on the deck, so the wind usually is not a problem. Hope this helps...... |
Question: | What is the inside clearance, from the grill to the underside of the cover |
Answer: | Cook top is slightly curved, but measures 25"x17.5" at the widest point. With the tables down, the grill is about 37.5" wide. |
Question: | where is the propane located |
Answer: | what kind of hose and adaptor to attach to 20 LB cylynder |
Question: | Could this be used indoors? Or on a wood table |
Answer: | grease pan |

About Coleman More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark. In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the dimensions of cooking surface when stove is open for cooking grill |
Answer: | about 20'' x 10'' |
Question: | Which carry case fits this stove |
Answer: | Coleman Part# 2000004431. That case will fit the stove AND can hold Two propane bottles. It's a nice case, keeps your stove looking like new plus carrying the bottles. |
Question: | What type of connector do I need for this Coleman Stove? I see many types but do not know which one to buy |
Answer: | it comes with the connector. you don't need to worry about that as long as you buy the small, green, one-use propane canisters. |
Question: | Can an adapter and propane tank be used with this burner |
Answer: | I'm not 100% sure but I think it should, provided the adapter is for this kind of Coleman propane stove. Personally, I use a refill adapter to refill my One-LB propane bottles from the 20-LB BBQ propane tank. I like the ease of the 1-LB bottles. The 20-LB tanks are too bulky for camping trips. User questions & answers
Question: | can this burner be used indoors |
Answer: | I set it on top of my electric range and use it for cooking with a wok. I like gas better for the wok. Works fine, although my house is pretty drafty so I don't have to worry much about ventilation. Downside? Don't leave it setting on the electric stove and turn the electric burner on. Might do a little damage when the gas explodes! |
Question: | My reason for considering this purchase is if the stove has a low setting, low enough so oatmeal doesn't burn. Some reviewers said yes AND no |
Answer: | I cook oatmeal on this burner every morning with no additional hardware. turn it very low- as low as possible. if your pot is small, do not cover. if the pot is deep, use a cover. you can pretty much tell if it boils over that the heat is too hi and or the pot is too shallow. |
Question: | is the unit stable, get hot enough for a wok pan? flat bottomed wok |
Answer: | Yes! Very stable that's why I got mine, and is great for larger pans/pots. I'm not sure about hot enough for wok but it should as I have cooked large pots of stew. For me it's a great one burner stove. |
Question: | Does this product includes the connection to the propane tank or do I have to buy a separate hose |
Answer: | The Coleman 5453A series Propane Stove is supplied complete with the following: 5453-2351 = Grate. R430-565T = Regulator assembly. 5453-3351 = Foot Assy. 5453-1351 = Knob. Note: The Regulator Assembly is the connection to the 16.5 Coleman Propane Fuel tank. A hose would be an addition of your choice if you wanted the propane to be farther away from the stove itself. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you add a thermometer gauge on it |
Answer: | Although the picture shows the lid on the grill, it is NOT a lid. It is the wok feature and it works well. We made scrambled eggs in it and cleanup was easy!! I don't really know if you can add a thermometer. Really like this grill, so easy to clean! |
Question: | How big is the center of the stove grate? I have a small coffee percolator and want to make sure it won’t fall through |
Answer: | I believe your coffee pot should be okay. There are "legs" that hold the grate in place. You can enlarge the picture of the grate to view better. |
Question: | Can this be used with coals |
Answer: | No this grill can’t be used with coal |
Question: | Is there an adapter to use a 20lb propane tank |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there accessory hangers on the grill? I don't see any like on previous versions |
Answer: | They upgraded the burner but something as simple as utensil hangers, they took off. |
Question: | will the pan adapters that fit the LXE road trip grills fit this unit |
Answer: | I'm not absolutely sure. I made a mistake, thanks to Amazon's "Click-to Order" feature. I mistakenly ordered the "Road Trip 285" instead of the "LXE." I received them both , but returned the "Road Trip" model. However, when I had them here, they looked the same in size to me. except for some differences in the stand. a 3rd burner and the way the side shelves were integrated, they looked virtually the same. Hope this helps. |
Question: | How do you clean out grease |
Answer: | I put 16 ounces of water in the drip pan. After cooking, I dump the water and wipe the drip pan with paper towels. The BBQ is designed to prevent grease from dripping on burners. So far this design has worked for me. |
Question: | how much does it weigh in comparison to the other coleman portable grills |
Answer: | There really isn't much differance in weight to be concerned with. The main feature that made my decision is the aluminium folding transport-stand and the 3 burner 20,000 BTU grill. After using the grill I found the removalable grease pan made the grill exceptionable. Easy to remove the cast iron grill plates and grease pan for cleaning. Truly a great design with functionality. Staring the grill with three burners on it is ready to sear steaks, burgers and sausage in a few short minutes. Very happy with the operation, cleaning and transportability. I purchased the braid stainless steel hose to have the option to use a 20 lb propane cylinder. I tried both a propane bottle & 20 lb cylinder both work great. I use it at home and package it up to use with the travel trailer. I rate the Coleman Roadtrip 285 as a Five ++ Star Purchase. |
