User questions & answers

Question: Where is it made from
Answer: Looking at the previous answers, looks like it used to be made in the usa, but now it looks like it's made in china. In the product details, it says it's made in china as of 5-28-17.
Question: can i use it without the legs? or what's the lowest i can adjust the legs to
Answer: No, you cannot use it without the legs. I looked at this too. The propane connection assembly extends lower than the metal shield around the burner. The legs do not have a lot of adjustment, maybe an inch or two. I have the stove packed away with my camping gear and cannot verify the exact amount of adjustment or lowest cooking height.
Question: I would purchase this to do pressure canning outside. Is there a problem with the weight of a full canner
Answer: Weight is not the issue with outside canning..... Too much heat on the thin aluminum canner bottoms is the issue. https://www.healthycanning.com/pressure-canner-heat-source/#heat-source-too-high Most everyone agrees to definitely avoid any “turkey fryer” propane heaters because of the high heat required to boil the oil to fry the turkey would damage many canners. Some people say, however, that there are some safe outdoor heat sources — ones with adjustable temperature controls such as the Camp Chef line.  “Only Camp Chef brand 2 burner stove on low is the only safe one we know of.”  4
Question: How much weight can this handle? I am hosting a lobster bake so I am figuring about 45 pounds/ 21kg will be on the unit at any given time. Thank you
Answer: I came here to look up this answer. I can say that I've had mine since 2015 and have routinely mashed and boiled wort on the burner. Over 7 gallons. Which would be around 56 pounds. I may have even doubled this up once with two batches at the same time.

User questions & answers

Question: Is the current model with built-in temperature sensor in the console or separate temperature sensor for the oven ? In the reviews I can see both model
Answer: Hi, Patrick. The newer version such as the ones I have and the stainless steel model show here do indeed have a built in temperature gauge/thermometer. If you look closely at the front you will see three gas dials. Left controls left burner.Right the right burner and the middle one controls oven. if you look closely between the middle (oven) gas dial and the right (right stove burner) gas dial you can see the oven temp gauge. Remember this is just a temp gauge only, not a true thermostat. You control oven temp manually by turning your oven gas dial. You can also slightly open door for a minute or so, too, if need be. I do not believe it is as difficult to regulate oven temp as some might lead you to believe. Also both of my ovens temp gauges are SPOT ON accurate. I checked them with several additional thermometers. You will not regret this purchase. I use these ovens for everything from baking cookies and cakes and pastries to casseroles and roasting meats when I have catering gigs that require extra oven space. just remember to occassional turn your pans by 180 degress and swap from top to bottom (items cooking on bottom get moved to top shelf and top shelf item to bottom shelf) occassionally and nothing will burn or scorch. Heck you might very well already have to do that with your home oven.
Question: can this be used indoors for self sustainable living if the propane tank is kept outside and connection is through the wall
Answer: There's a serious safety/health issue if used indoors. I doubt that any indoor use is approved, but if you must, the room that the stove is in MUST have plenty of fresh air ventilation. Otherwise the burning propane will consume all the oxygen in the room, leaving just carbon monoxide for the people, which will put you to sleep, then kill you. I'm sure everyone has heard about entire families dying due to a faulty heater. Well, the Camp Chef is a great stove/oven, but it makes a very faulty heater.
Question: will the oven fit a 13 x 9 pan
Answer: yes it will fit 13 x 9 ..also has two oven racks..
Question: I'm looking for an oven for an rv. Now I'd imagine I'd have to probably open a window when in use but how hot does it get to the touch on the outside
Answer: Don't use an oven designed for cooking outdoors inside an RV. Most people never use their factory installed RV oven anyway. The most they use are the top burners. I am not comfortable cooking with gas so in my RV I used to use a reg electric hot plate. Just ordered an induction cooking single burner thing. But seriously, don't mess around w your safety. RV fires are no joke.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this stove be turned down reliably low enough to just simmer
Answer: Yes
Question: Can the hose connection come in from the left side also or only from the right side like in the picture
Answer: For anyone buying this in the future, the hose connection is easily reversible on the two burner stove. Two phillips screws and less than a minute. So yes the hose connection can be moved to the left side quickly and easily.
Question: I want to use this inside and run hose to outside what fittings and type of hose do i need
Answer: I use this stove inside and put the propane tank under the counter . Typically you would use copper line with a compression fitting but I just used the line that came with it.
Question: can i use nature gas
Answer: Interesting question. 1. Yes, you can convert LPG Propane appliance to Natural Gas Methane appliance. 2. To convert from one gas to another, the two most common alterations are the sizing of the gas injector and the adjustment of pressure. 3. Here is a good link: https://www.elgas.com.au/blog/474-converting-lpg-and-natural-gas-appliances 4. Propane comes in at a higher pressure than Methane Gas. The pressure nozzle needs to be adjusted. 5. The different ratios of air to gas mean that the size of the hole in the gas jet must change. • In Propane, Oxygen to Propane mix ratio is 25:1 or 25 units of oxygen to 1 unit of propane. • In Methane, Oxygen to Methane mix ratio is 10:1 or 10 units of oxygen to 1 unit of methane. 6. Other parts may also require replacement, like dampers, aeration sleeves and/or air baffles. 7. The gas supply pressure will also change, requiring internal adjustment or possibly a different regulator.

User questions & answers

Question: Is there a way to set it so that the flame does not make my pot get black soot
Answer: If the air adjustment isn't making much difference in changing your yellow flame to an even blue flame you might have a spider web in the burner throat. Get a piece of wire coat hanger or similar item and poke it up through the air inlet kinda moving it so it rubs the circular sides of the passage as it moves toward the main body of the burner. I've had to do this many times with burners from various propane cookers. Even a high pressure jet burner on a deep fryer. You'd think the propane would blow it out but it doesn't. This has cured the yellow flame, black pot issue for me a dozen times or so.
Question: my controls get very hot is that ok
Answer: I have not had any issues with the controls getting hot. I would definitely contact the manufacturer and let them know this.
Question: What size propane hose does it use and does it come with? I've lost mine and need to replace but don't know what size it is. Thanks
Answer: Regular size, not sure of the dimension
Question: Does anyone use this for canning
Answer: Yes works great and has plenty of room for three large canning pots.

Question: Will a regular Chinese Wok (non-flat bottom) work on this burner
Answer: It will using a wok ring. These are perfect burner output for a 15 inch cast iron wok.
Question: Can I use a 9 inch diameter pot on this stove? I have seen comments on other stoves that the pot must be 12 inches
Answer: I don't see why you can't use a 9 inch pot . You probable won't need to use the high setting. If exesive flame becomes an issue . Camp chef makes a flame tamer plate that you can use to eliminate exesive flame .
Question: Does this come with the Pro 30 single burner stove box picture
Answer: No the stove box does not come with stove. Just the stove minus the propane tank. I love my camp stove but I have never used the barbecue box. I do have the griddle.
Question: can it be used without the legs attached? i have an outdoor concrete countertop id like to use it on
Answer: I was told be camp chef that yes it can, but will heat up/burn whatever it is sitting on, so don't use it on a wood picnic table or plastic tailgate guards. Best option is to set it on its legs next to whatever you thought about setting it on.

User questions & answers

Question: Do the side flaps come off or fold outward all the way so that a longer griddle can be used
Answer: Yes they fold out, so if its not windy you can have a larger pot pan or griddle, Does the back come off though? the Eureka spires does.
Question: Is there an attachment for the hose from a 20 lb propane bottle
Answer: It is not included, but you can certainly purchase one. We attach ours to our trailers quick disconnect still using the sm bottle attachment.
Question: Will this support the lodge 20" by 10.44 inch griddle without removing the wind flaps
Answer: i got it out and measured it. it will take the griddle you present. 3/4 inch space each end of 20 inches with wings up. the 10 inch side has 3/4 in in back and no limit in front. hope this was helpful.
Question: I've never purchased a camping stove before and not sure what to expect--in all regards....really... :) But, to be clear, do I need to purchase a hose and/or connector for a propane tank or does that come with the purchase of the stove
Answer: You will need a hose to connect to a large propane tank but there is a connector for the small bottles. BTW, this stove is the bomb. When we lost power this past Thanksgiving, EVERYTHING that needed to be cooked on a stovetop we cooked on this stove because the turkey was in the oven and our generator wouldn't support the oven and burners. The stove performed wonderfully!

User questions & answers

Question: Can you wear hot pants while cooking on this
Answer: No, it does not.
Question: Does this unit include a griddle, as other models do
Answer: Yes. And they lock in place (open and closed) with a push knob like you would find on the leg of a pop-up canopy
Question: Does the legs fold in
Answer: This stove, as you mentioned, does not come with the grill box, but it comes With 4 things the big gas grill doesn't have. 1) leg levelers for setting up on uneven ground 2) 2 shelves instead of one 3) windscreen 4) collapsible legs
Question: Why should I choose this model over the big gas grill that is $12 cheaper AND comes with a 2 burner BBQ box
Answer: The Titan works excellent with a variety of alcohol stoves. I'm not familiar with the Evernew Titanium model, but if it fits inside a 4" cylinder and is not more than 4" tall it should work very well. I have used a large Sterno can in mine and it works fantastic. It's a good option for ice camping where there is no wood. Honestly though, the Titan works so well with any wood or solid fuel that you may find you won't need the alcohol stove at all. There is another feature of the Titan that allows it to burn any liquid fuel, the ash pan is water tight and can hold about a cup of any liquid. It will burn intensely for about 15 min with a pan full of alcohol.

User questions & answers

Question: This doesn't have a drip tray for grease. We read that it burns up or something. Any one have issues with grease or anything
Answer: There is no drip tray. With the heat it seems to burn off. I've had no issues with cooking on it thus far.
Question: Does this attachment work with the windscreen in place
Answer: Yes and No, the box fits with the wind screen in place, but when you lift the lid, it hits the wind screen and you can't open it all the way.
Question: I have an expedition 3X stove and am curious if anyone has this grill box and uses it with the two burner griddle? I'd like to know if it fits
Answer: I have the same stove. This grill box fits, but is not made for the 16" stoves.i just got it and haven't used it yet, but intend to use it on the side of my 2 burner griddle. The grill box sits a little crooked as one side of it hits the lip of the grill, but it seems it should work. There does not seem to be a 1 burner grill box option for the expedition series 3 burner stove.
Question: Anyone used this thing to smoke/ grill meat before? Trip tip? Chicken wings? Any tips would be great
Answer: We used it to grill steaks and hamburgers out at our hunting shack and it worked just fine. Keep an eye on it though because there isn't a lot of space between the burner and the grill and it will flame up. Can't see trying to smoke anything with it......just not built for that kind or process

User questions & answers

Question: Can i use this atop my "camp chef flat top grill
Answer: Just saw this answer from a FTG600 customer (as we are), seems Camp Chef needs to replace some of their customer support people.... "Love love love this oven. We use it on the Camp Chef Flat Top Grill(much nicer griddle/grill then Blackstone) by removing the griddle top and setting it right on the grill grates of three burners. Heats up quickly! Basically by the time you have your toppings in the dough the oven is hot. We make a thicker crust with lots of toppings so use a lower temp. Have baked pies and quiche in it as well. Would buy again in a heartbeat."
Question: Does anyone have a carrier/storage bag for this pizza oven? If you do, can you please direct me to the one that works? We need to transport/store
Answer: I know this is an old question but I wanted to provide updated information for people like me who were looking for a bag. The bag you want for this is the Camp Chef BBQ Box Carry Bag. It's model number BB-90BAG and it specifically states it will fit the PZ90 Pizza Oven. If, for some reason, that bag number doesn't work, it's the one made for the BB90L BBQ box.
Question: Confusion. I am reading how many are using this on their grills, etc. Can't it be used on it's own? I read the descrip, making sure info is correct
Answer: There is a costlier Camp Chef propane powered oven with an integrated burner, it looks similar but is taller to incorporate the propane burner. This accessory oven DOES NOT have a burner, thus requires use of an external heat source - like your existing grill or outdoor stove top surface. About 16,000 BTU cooking power is required.
Question: can this oven work with any out door grills other than camp chef
Answer: Yes, it works with my old Weber Genesis gas grill. It is, however, a very tight fit, with only about 1/16" clearance on either side, and about 1-1/2" in front and back. The Weber grill lid must remain open, because the pizza oven is too large for the lid to close over it. I put a piece of aluminum foil over the oven opening during preheat and am able to get the oven to about 650-675 and the stone close to 600 degrees. If you use it with the Camp Chef burners, it sounds like you can get it a little hotter than that.

User questions & answers

Question: Picture is a pro60 and the description says it is a pro60x. which is it
Answer: I'm sure you could, but it might have extra amount of vitamins that you don't need (folic acid comes to mind). This brand also carries a great multivitamin for men and women. My husband recently started using their vitamin for men.
Question: What is the height
Answer: Now they are $44! I use to pay $24 for 2 different years I have used them. Now I'm going to try another because of the huge price increase
Question: Does this stove included the regulator and the hose
Answer: These do not include DHA. Rainbow Light does have a Prenatal Daily Duo that comes with Prenatal One and Prenatal DHA Smart Essentials.
Question: What does it weigh
Answer: Anyone who is confused, please look into it. Methylated Folate is important, especially if you have not had genetic testing to rule out having the MTHFR gene. In that case folic acid becomes a bigger problem. Look up MTHFR and folate vs folic acid. It is newer info but very very real and serious.

User questions & answers

Question: My goal is to use Caputo 00 flour which is best cooked at temperatures of 750+ resulting in pizza being done in 2 to 3 minutes. Has anyone tried this
Answer: My best pizza to date on this oven was a margarita at a 625 temp and on for about 6 or 7 minutes. The higher temps are OK if you only have one topping or so, but I felt I had more control with the lower temp, especially what making a combo pizza. Hope this helps.
Question: Will this oven get to temp in below zero temperatures
Answer: I used it in outside temperatures of 20° and it got to 700° but with door open it struggled to stay at 600°
Question: How wide is the actual oven. It says 31" in the product description but that's really large if it only cooks a 12" pizza. Are those box dimensions
Answer: You are right. The dimensions given are outside packaging dimensions, no the actual products OD. The products OD are 25 3/4w x 14 3/4d x 15"h approx. The stone is 20 x 13. When they say this item can reach 750/800 degrees in 15 minutes they ain't lying. I make perfectly done pizza in 3minutes or less. Read the start up institute tions very carefully as the stone is very fragile and susceptible to cracking from changing temps to fast. A week ago I ordered another one to gift to my brother in Michigan and was put on a waiting list. Good luck
Question: I have uses my pizza over twice and both times the pizzas are black and burnt on the bottom even after turning down the heat the second use. ideas
Answer: With all the energy coming from below the stone and then radiating upwards the difference between the two locations can be as much a 200°. Get a lasar temp guage and learn your oven. Now to solve the problem, get the stone hot ( put on high) then turn down to medium . Put your pizza in directly on stone until bottom is tan/brown. Then put a pizza pan under the pizza upside down to keep the pizza off the hot stone and finish cooking the top of the pizza. It takes a little experimenting to get it right but when you do this oven is better than a wood burning oven. What else would let u go from room temp to 750° in 15 minutes. Enjoy. I do most every night.
