The plastic is very flexible and might only break if bent back and forth in one motion for an extended period of time. Thank goodness, the attention span of most youngsters is always less than the extended period of time it takes to actually break one of these cute accessories to Mr Potato Head. Answer:	I am using the 35 inch wide desktop model of this desk in my classroom. I always have my laptop on it and I place it partially off the desktop on the left. To the right, I have papers that I correct or need to look over but I keep them in 2 stacks. I think a notebook could fit in the space I have the papers, but no more than that. I love the desk but if I am going to do any kind of work that requires anything more than laptop and paper, I use a table in the classroom. I do not think the 35 inch desktop will comfortably fit all the items you mentioned. Also, read the dimensions carefully. I thought I was ordering a 35 inch high desk which would have been suitable for my 3rd grade student. Instead the 35 inches was the width of the desktop, itself. It is a perfect height for me so I am using it. Over all, I am pleased with it and it was easy to assemble.

Answer:	sure, its hard plastic- but some pieces might be small enough to get stuck in a drain. and you would want to wash them often if you play with it in water.
