Question:	Do these change the taste of the coffee
Answer:	Amazingly, no. On the other hand it's been suggested that we keep these moist by rinsing them out with water after use and then storing them in the fridge. I simply store mine in a small plastic Ziploc baggie in the frig. When we were in Costa Rica and toured a coffee plantation there it was interesting to me that they also used a cloth filter very similar to this one BUT they let their's dry out. Our son did this too and this absolutely changes the taste of the coffee! Not good!! So, don't let the filter dry out and it will make great coffee!

Answer:	Yes, the Woodneck comes with one cloth filter. We ordered a refill set but haven't had to use those yet-just be sure to keep the filter wet and in the refrigerator when not in use. Also, once a week, we put 1 Tbsp of Oxyclean in a small tub of hot water and let the thing soak for an hour or so-then rinse thoroughly about 10 times. It's holding up nicely over the last 6 months while brewing 2 pots a day.

Answer:	Ignore advice to let dry. This is like letting your wet laundry air dry into mildew. Like many popular coffee snob youtubers will suggest, clean then soak it in a glass of water in the fridge. Or rinse and put in a ziplock in the freezer if not using daily

Answer:	About 3 cups MAXIMUM useable space, meaning that full to the brim it holds OVER 3 cups (I measured with dry noodles). It's probably most effective at "ricing" when full of no more than 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 C, or excess might squeeze out the sides/top. But I've used it as a "press" loosely packed to the brim

Answer:	Waaaaay easier, toddy took a simple thing, made it a gimick and sold it, this emersion method is way easier, I've done it now 2 months, did toddy method for 2 yrs. This is easy, I fill the basket 1/2 with grounds, then water to saturate, then stir; then fill the other half with grounds, and finish with the water, total of 8 full table spoons coffee to 1 qt watet. I wait about 12- 14 hrs

Answer:	The measurements recommended are not for those of us who like strong cold brew coffee. I personally use the Mizadushi with a 110grams of espresso roast or dark roast ground to a medium/coarse grind and left to brew for 18-24 hrs and that has made some pretty amazing cold brew for my tastes! For reference, I generally prefer Starbucks cold brew over just about any other because no one else I’ve found will make it as strong as Starbucks. However the cold brew I’ve made with this method has been even better, using a variety of beans for my brews.

Answer:	Yes, the carafe can be put on a stove, but only over very low heat. It can safely be put on a low setting to keep coffee warm, though this can change the flavor of the coffee. My recommendation is to pour into an insulated cup or mug to retain heat.

Question:	Is the opening large enough to brew an Aeropress into
Answer:	Yes, but I wouldn't. That is how I broke my Hario carafe after 10 years. Mind you, I'd done aeropress on it over a hundred times the last couple of years, but still it's not made for that kind of pressure. Do your aeropress onto hard ceramic or straight to the cup you're going to drink it in.
Question:	Can this be used in a mocrowave
Answer:	I've never microwaved my hario server. However, if you're spending the money to buy hario products I hope you're not planning to use it to microwave coffee. Additionally I wouldn't use it to microwave water for coffee either as you won't be able to ballpark the temperature of the water.
Question:	Can it be used on gas stove? Boil water on stove
Answer:	I found out the hard way. Thought I could boil so water on it on low. Nope. The bottom of the plastic handle started melting. Luckily I caught it before the damager could be worse so it's still intact, but it's definitely not meant for a gas range.
Question:	Is this glass or acrylic
Answer:	Borosilicate glass.

Answer:	There's silicone rubber on the handle and the shape of the bulbs are a bit different.
Question:	What is the difference between this model ("next") and the other Hario 5-cup coffee siphon("technica")? Is one model newer than the other
Answer:	Have used Hario "Next" for 2 years on daily basis. I also use the TCA-5, TCA-3 as well. I myself found the Next is more logical in the whole machanism of water coming up and down. The conical shape of the upper funnel makes the descending of substance smoother and cleaner. The lower flat bottom flask also receives heat from a burner more evenly. At first the plastic handle was a deterrence for me but it works well for the past 2 years. Nothing comes off and it provides a firm grip of pouring the 600ml plus of hot coffee out safely. I love the Hario Next. (I didn't receive sponsor from Hario)

Answer:	No but you could probably make a great canna tea using your favorite strain.
Question:	What reusable K-Cup fits this machine? Ordered what was suppose to fit and lid would not close
Answer:	This is what I use instead of pre-filled pods. Two came with my machine when I bought it and I have since bought a few more. They are not cheap and are complicated to use, but do work once I got used to how to do it (but your guests never will unless they are very very frequent guests".) Question:	Is the reservoir plastic or glass
Answer:	The water well is plastic. If it were glass, it would be very heavy to fit onto the pump stand when full of water.
Question:	Does it include a water filter? I see them in the pic but nowhere in the description or what’s in the box
Answer:	It comes equipped for a filter, but doesn't come with the filter itself. You need to buy it separately. Another option is to use filtered water.
Question:	does this take any make pod or do i have to use k-cup pods
Answer:	I have used several types of pods, including Cameron, Trader Joe’s, and other without issue. They all seem to work just fine!
