| Answer: | It has scratched both my 2009 Lexus 350 RX and my 2014 Subaru Outback. The scratches come from the coated metal things that secure the straps to the rear gate. There was no amount of tightening or adjusting that could prevent movement of two bikes on this carrier. I wish I had gotten a tow hitch type carrier setup instead. |

The longer answer is that while you can use this paddle float with a greenland style paddle, the float may tend to slip off the end of the paddle since here isn't much of a swell in the paddle blade to hold the float on. I believe it's worth a try. I haven't actually use a paddle float with a Greenland style paddle, but I think that it might work better than some of us expect. |

| Answer: | Yes, it does adjust for off center spare tire, but if the spare tire is not that much off center, I found out that it is better to just change the direction the way my bike faces to achieve optimal centering. I have a 2008 Toyota RAV4 with a spare tire that sits just a bit off center. I found out that if you shift the carrier itself to try to compensate for the off center spare tire the bike was not as centered as I wanted, rather I kept the carrier centered on the spare tire and I just changed the direction the way the way the bike was positioned. |

| Answer: | Hi RJK,We cannot recommend any of our carriers be installed on a trailer or towed vehicle. In terms of trailers, the suspension is far different than on passenger automobiles by design. Mainly the rear axle is much farther forward as compared to a passenger vehicle. Thus, any road vibrations or bumps, are amplified over the longer distance which is transferred to the carrier and bikes, so that scenario poses a risk to the equipment, the carrier, as well as the receiver it is installed into. When it comes to a towed vehicle, if there were to be a failure of any component during transit the issue may not come to light until there is a major issue or failure due to the fact the bikes would not be easily visible, so in short, it leave the possibility that something small could turn into something large with potentially no indication. This would of course be a rare instance, but nonetheless these are the reasons for our recommendations. Thank you for the inquiry and have a great day! |

| Answer: | I have very strong hands and I have tightened it as much as I possibly can. It actually helps if you lift up on the rack as you tighten (if you can). I believe that the knob & bolt are strong enough that normal human strength can't strip it out. I wouldn't use any tools on it (nor do I think that is necessary). |

| Answer: | Yes, I fit 4 items on this. A full size woman's bike (Trek) without the crossbar support (left full size pedals on), a 5 year old's starter bike (Disney Princess with 16" rims and no training wheels), a folded 2 child Burley trailer (without wheels), and a Schwinn Tag Along trailer bike (with pedals on).I couldn't mount my Dahon folding bike (Curve D3) because it just doesn't have a place to slip the bars under the frame so I folded that and put it in the back of our Honda Odyssey. We drove this way about 600 miles from Chicago to Traverse City, MI and plan to do it again from Chicago to Pittsburgh. However, it would be best to remove pedals from my wife's Trek. I did buy her a crossbar which will make it easier to mount her bike since that is the trickiest part. As for mounting a 5th bike to the above load, I think it would only be possible if the pedals were removed. |

| Answer: | I have had this rack for 6 months, couple of long trips and many short ones and have not had any issues with scratching of paint. As an added precaution I did put down some plastic protective strips on the paint surface where the straps make contact but that was only as added protection. I am extremely happy with this rack. |

| Answer: | I have the trophy charcoal color, so can't really answer your question for sure. But, I'm pretty sure that no matter which color you choose, both blades of the paddle will match each other. You won't get one blade that is citrus and the other blade blue with a white star. They will both be the same. Also, don't expect the blades to be brightly colored on both sides. The blades are semi-transparent, so on front they are nice and colorful, but on he back side, they are more muted with the colors from the front showing through to the back. They are really nice paddle and once you try them on the water, you'll be glad you bought them. |
