Answer:	For me, it depends on the time on the time of year you are feeding. When the weather is above 75 degrees, I usually let the food stay out only a day or so. I don’t fill the feeder very full so as not to waste food. When it is cooler, I let the food stay out 3-4 days. I always clean the feeder with soap and water before refilling. Question:	Why don't you have to boil the water when using the shaker? I thought the water had to be boiled to get rid of chlorine
Answer:	You're actually boiling the water to kill the mold in the sugar. The theory is once placed out in the heat the nectar will last longer. However even with boiling you still start developing mold in about 3 days. If it is going to get cloudy and moldy in 3 days anyways it's just simpler and a whole lot faster to use cold water and shake it for 30 seconds. Also stop into your local wild bird store, they carry products that can hold down the mold for weeks.

Answer:	I put them in the upper shelf and they are just fine. I run the dishwasher on a sanitize cycle (higher temperature) so both the glass bottles and plastic bottoms are sanitized. Put the bottles in the lower rack opening down. The disassembled feeding tray goes in the top rack. We have counted as many as 9 hummingbirds simultaneously trying to fill up on nectar at our feeder.
Question:	My biggest reason for wanting new feeders is that our current ones leak all over the deck. Do these leak
Answer:	No. They've never leaked. I have loads of hummingbirds and these are my favorite feeders. They come apart for cleaning and are very practical. I've ditched the leaky, blown glass feeders. In fact, I have 2 sets of 4 so I can take down and refill the hook with a fresh feeder in one trip. Happy birthday to me!
Question:	Is there a design on the glass ? I was hoping for clear glass
Answer:	Yes there is some design on it along with measuring levels for filling. I have 3 of these and absolutely love them. Hummingbirds are attracted to red so the red on the glass is great. There can be anywhere from 1 to 3 Hummingbirds on a feeder at a time. Just remember, no red coloring in the water, it's bad for the birds. Google has says to make your own...it's very easy. Answer:	Nothing makes their feathers red. It is a popular notion that specific colors can attract birds. But you may be wondering if hummingbirds really are attracted to red. There isn’t a clear answer to this question. While there is no doubt amongst bird enthusiasts that hummingbirds seem to be drawn to bright colors, there isn’t a conclusive reason as to why they’re attracted to red specifically.
Question:	Is this sugar water or fluid harvested from flowers
Answer:	The label reads “Infused with a blend of steam-distilled floral hydrosols of the flowers most visited by hummingbirds. Added calcium helps promote healthy egg development, and electrolytes aid in the prevention of dehydration”. It contains 18% sugar. This is the only product I put in my feeders, and I have an abundance of hummingbirds every year. I have hung two identical feeders, one with Sweet-Nectar, and one with another brand. The birds only fed from the feeder with the Sweet-Nectar.

Question:	Is there a way for hummingbirds to perch on this feeder
Answer:	There isn't on the black hanger version, but there is a perching ring on the red hanger version, which is also available at Amazon, and they can be used in conjunction with each other, too. Question:	only 3 holes are open. is it simple to get the other port open or should i just return this
Answer:	The red and clear part are glass and not attached to one another and easily removed from metal holder. The red part with holes just lifts off, it sits on the clear bottom section.
