The best use of the treadmill is to work on the dogs mental state. Start fast, then start slowing down the speed. When you have the dog being able to walk at 1 - 1.5mph without being distracted, you have hit the mental part, and are teaching the dog to learn to be calm. Which is what you want...a nice calm, satisfied, dog. |

| Answer: | If you're wondering about the size, yes this works for a cat. My cat is a 12# cat and can use it just fine. My 25# dog also uses it, so the size should be fine for a maine coon. It is plenty long for a running stride, but I don't have my pets go over a jogging (trotting) speed. The biggest thing with a cat on this is to make sure they are absolutely comfortable and never leave them on it alone. If/when the cat gets scared, you don't want them to be tangled or stuck in any possible way. When I first got it, I let my cat explore it and fed him some treats on it when it wasn't on. Then I turned it on when he wasn't on it to get him used to the sounds it made (it beeps when it's about to start and when the speed changes). I made sure I had a hand on him and went really slow the first few times. I will say that my dog was more of a natural with it than my cat. |

If you are looking for a treadmill specifically for smaller dogs without compromising quality- The Mini Pacef is exactly what you want - Trust me- I'm critical of everything - and I stand behind this product. |
