1. When infrequent use, do not hinge the switch box forcely, avoid vibration,or it will seriously reduce the lamp lifespan.

2. Do not connect the thermostat and other equipment to use, because it will cause the light to be switched frequently, that reduce lamp lifespan.

3. Work up to 3-5 hours per day, because long hours of high temperature working could easily reduce the lamp lifespan.

Answer:	I use this lamp for my medium size Russian Tortoises. For only 25watts it emits quite a bit of heat over a wide range. So, I bought a reptile lamp stand to extend the distance from my Tortoises (approx. two feet away). I don’t have experience with tarantulas, but I think this product might work if appropriately distanced from your animal so it doesn’t get too hot. My Tortoises love the warm, gentle heat it emits.
