12 best exo terra night lights

Exo Terra night lights are specialized lighting products designed for reptile and amphibian terrariums as part of their habitat and environmental control. These lights serve various purposes related to maintaining proper temperature, visibility, and overall well-being for these cold-blooded creatures. Here's what you need to know about Exo Terra night lights:

  1. Heat Lamps: Exo Terra night lights often include heat lamps or infrared bulbs. These lamps emit heat and light, simulating the natural warmth and light reptiles and amphibians require. The heat source helps regulate the terrarium's temperature, allowing the inhabitants to bask and thermoregulate as they would in their natural habitat.

  2. Terrarium Heat Mats: Some Exo Terra night lights may also incorporate heat mats or pads. These are placed beneath the terrarium to provide localized warmth, allowing reptiles to have access to different temperature zones within their enclosure.

  3. Nighttime Heating: One of the primary purposes of Exo Terra night lights is to provide a heat source during the nighttime hours. Many reptiles and amphibians are nocturnal or crepuscular, which means they are most active at night or during low-light conditions. The gentle heat produced by these lights helps maintain a stable nighttime temperature in the terrarium, ensuring the comfort and health of the animals.

  4. Visibility: In addition to heat, Exo Terra night lights often emit a soft, dim light that allows for nighttime visibility without disturbing the animals. This is particularly important for observing nocturnal behaviors, feeding, and ensuring the safety of your pets.

  5. Pet Supplies: Exo Terra is a well-known brand in the pet supply industry, specializing in products for reptiles, amphibians, and other exotic pets. Their night lights are designed with the specific needs of these creatures in mind, offering reliable and safe solutions for maintaining the terrarium environment.

  6. Customization: Exo Terra offers a range of night lights with different heat output levels and features, allowing reptile owners to choose the most suitable option for their specific terrarium setup and the needs of their pets.

  7. Safety: When using any heat or lighting products in a terrarium, it's crucial to follow safety guidelines provided by Exo Terra and monitor temperature levels closely to ensure that they are within the recommended range for the species of reptiles or amphibians you are keeping.

In summary, Exo Terra night lights are essential tools for maintaining the well-being of reptiles and amphibians in captivity. They provide heat and subtle illumination during the nighttime hours, allowing these creatures to thrive in an environment that closely mimics their natural habitat. When used correctly and in conjunction with proper husbandry practices, Exo Terra night lights contribute to the health and happiness of pet reptiles and amphibians.

Question: I have a BD in a 55 gallon will this a 75 watt be good at night my house drops down in the low 60es
Answer: 75 watt will make a hot spot for sure. I have a 75 gallon and keep the tank between 82 and 86 using a 15 and a 25 watt bulb on each side of the tank and a ultratherm.
Question: This mentions tropical light, whould this work for a beardie? which is a desert reptile
Answer: I too have a beardie. The blue night glo light provides light so you can see your beardie and also provides heat. I recommend it for night light. For day light the beardie needs a uvb light (I use the long florescent light) plus a regular bulb for heating. This seems to be working well and he is doing well.

User questions & answers

Question: It looks like this attaches to the glass on the enclosure via an adhesive. Is there an easy way to remove it in the event you decide to move it
Answer: Rubbing alcohol will take off adhesive residue on glass
Question: is this safe to use as a scorpion light
Answer: Absolutely! If you've got a small terrarium it will supply a great amount of light for any scorpion.
Question: Does it work on the screen cages 20 x 16 x
Answer: Yes, but. :-) The only issue is going to be where to mount the light to. There's adhesive that usually mounts to glass or the frame of the enclosure. So, other than mounting issues, the light will work perfectly.
Question: Is this supposed to stay on all day
Answer: This light is for visual appeal not for any benefit for the lizard so you have it on or off as you'd like. The only case where it might be nice for the lizard would be if you have the lizard in a room with no natural light (which would be very sad) in which case you should have some sort of light on a day/night cycle.

User questions & answers

Question: How would I go about attaching this to my wall or ceiling
Answer: Well, realize that it does have a cord. You could use glue, command strips, double sided tape, anything adhesive will do fine on the back of it. It dies have a metal disk that you use if you are putting it in a tank, so you could use command strips on that disk, because it's smaller than the moon, and then just let the moon magnet onto said disk. Just know that if the cord is pulled you'll most likely knock the moon down unless you forsake said disk and adhere the moon itself to your wall. I assume you're wanting to use it as a night light for a human being?
Question: If I don't have a daytime light will it still turn on automatically
Answer: It will turn on automatically as long as there's no light source on the sensor. And if it's always on adjust the sensor to catch any light during the day.
Question: Can i usey it with red eyes tree frogs without disturbing them
Answer: To be honest this light is really bright. My tokay geckos hate it and my leopard geckos hate it too. My Australian whites tree frog doesn't mind it and the eyelash crested gecko loves it. It's to bright in a 40gal but in my 6'x6' greenhouse it's just fine attached to the ceiling.
Question: Is it battery operated
Answer: No, it plugs into the electrical outlet.

User questions & answers

Question: gln 36" wide tank for bd. i am replacing lights for better temp regulation. is 160w ok or should i go with lower wattage. do i need other lighting
Answer: as a person who has owned a lot of bearded dragons and has raised and bread them; it depends on the beardies age. if the dragon is young I would go for hotter like 150 or maybe 160 depending on your cage for a hotspot (you need 110 f) but for an older bearded dragon you should definitely go a lower watt like 100.
Question: How often should be changed to ensure that the reptile gets the amount of uv light it needs? or what is the lifespan of the bulb
Answer: The bulb lasted us about a year or a tad over a year. We have this light on 12 hours a day. We have it set with a timer to turn on at 7am and off at 7pm.
Question: Does the bulb have a warranty
Answer: I do not know, but mine went out after about a month so I bought a Mega-Ray bulb and it has been going strong for 5 months now.
Question: I have a 75 gallon tank for my senior bearded dragon and i accidentally bought the 160w bulb. Would it make it too hot for her? Im scared to use it
Answer: The 160w bulb gets up to 102° at its hottest point (4 inches away from the bulb). Considering beardies can withstand temperatures up to 104°+, you should be ok. Just make sure their peak basking spot is between 6-8" away and always make sure to have a cooling spot that is approximately room temperature (basically just an area where the light wouldnt hit or a place with no heating pad)
